Chapter 2
Anna
"So, how's the quiz that you've been thinking for the past week?" Amy. My best friend asks.
She takes a bite from her sandwich which her mother made for her.
"Hard. But still, I managed to answer it." I grab some chips and shove it on my mouth. Manners wasn't on my dictionary.
"Nerd." She teases. My best friend loves to tease me and I'm used to it.
Amy is my best friend since I became a freshman here. I had no friends at all, until the day she lay her eyes on me. She asked my name and introduced herself and then she insisted me to come and join her. Not because she is lonely, she is just friendly. Besides, Josh was there. Josh is her cousin but they prefer to call each other as close friends rather than just cousins. I don't know why, but what do I care. They like it that way.
"Can you please just stop it? I had enough for one day." I said irritated. I exhaled and let everything of my worries run circles inside my head. I'm the kind of person who let small things inside my head.
I let out a heavy breath and draw circles on the table with the use of my index finger. I'm tired and a little bit irritated. I'm tired of others saying what I nerd I am and how a loser I can be. I'm used to it but everyone has their limits.
Amy is a Goth. A person who wears mostly black clothing, uses dark dramatic make up, and often has dyed black hair. I don't know how it started it all. But hey, she is a good friend. I know right? A nerd and a Goth What an unusual chemistry.
While Josh in the other hand is not what you think he is. He is not a Goth He is one of the jocks. He's somehow popular. Even though he is a jock, He still hangs out with us and gives us time. He is a good friend. But sometimes it bothers me hanging out with him because some girls look at me like a prey. He is popular after all. Whenever I see those girls who liked him very much, I feel like slapping them right on the face. It's just so irritating, you know.
"I'm sorry." She apologize. "What seems to be the problem?" She added. She was worried and it was already evident on her facial features.
I told Amy what happened and in my surprise, Josh sat down beside me. I can feel other girls looking at our table and I knew that it was because of Josh.
"What's the long face Anna?" Josh gave me his sincere and innocent look, showing that he really cares. He's the kind of guy that shows you that he really cares for you whether you're in good or hard situation.
"She have a bad day. Your sweet gestures won't make her feel in a good mood." Amy uttered and crossed her arms against her chest. There she goes again, mocking Josh.
"Well it works on other girls." Josh boasted as he gives playful winks on the girls who were looking at our table
He faced me, "Right?" He initiates the question to me.
"But not on Anna." Amy grumbled. What is Amy's problem to her cousin now?
"Well, let us just try it and see." Josh looks Amy in a meaningful stare and mocks her with his facial expressions that Amy doesn't like.
They are close but both are really competitive.
"Oh please. Just admit that you like Anna and everything will go fine as like you said it or in the other hand your you're just going to get your heart broken. I would be looking forward to see that." Amy smirks as if she already won something. Even though she haven't.
Josh shuts his mouth and his face was flushed. Is he blushing? Or he is just intimidated on what Amy said to him. But why? It's not even true that Josh likes me. Oh please, that won't ever happen. Josh liking a nerd like? A jock liking a nerd. Well that's unbelievable.
"Whatever Amy!" He does not look at her and kept his eyes focused to me.
"Bye Anna, I have some practice to attend to. See you around!" He stands up and gave me his best smiles. He didn't even bid his farewell to her cousin. Well I'm used to it. They are always like that.
"I'm home!" I shouted. I just want to lie down on my bed and watch vampire diaries all over again.
I put my bag at the couch and surprisingly Abby, my little sister tackles me with a huge hug. She is really sweet.
I carried her and gave her a peck on the cheek.
I saw my mom come inside using the back door. She usually plant at our garden, she seldom do that on the afternoon. Her hands are covered with soil, dirt and mud while she's holding a trowel.
"Darling, we have a new neighbor!" she said excitedly as she wash her hands on a running water.
She was smiling like it's her first time seeing a human being. My mom is that friendly, can't blame her. I wasn't able to inherit that kind of attitude.
"Oh. Really? Since when?" I asked her like I really cared even I don't.
"Last night. Mrs. and Mr. Anderson would like to have dinner with us in there house. We're going there later when your father arrives. I called your father and he said that he will come home early. So if I were you, pamper yourself. Wear a dress! It's just one night and besides they have a son who is as same age as you. I will take care of Abby. Head up stairs and pamper yourself." She said with an overflowing determination on her eyes.
I head upstairs and went straight in my room. I don't even like to say anything back to my mom. I had enough scolding and torture for one day. I looked at my window and look at the other side. From here, you can see the other room of the Anderson's house. I would really like to know who would take that place though. It would really be great if it's their son. I wish it's a hot son.
I peeked through my window and I was surprised to see a hot guy in that room. Built body and all. Where are my binoculars? Where are they when I need them?
I grab my binoculars under my bed and went to look on the other side, again. Now, I can see that he had his jeans on, but hey! He has no shirt on. Oh my gosh, he is shirtless and I can felt as if I'm drooling. Those muscles. Please face the window! All I can see is his back, but still it's hot. Please do face the window. Am I being a pervert now? No! It's just normal for girls to stare on a hottie and besides who would want to miss this? I think I'm going to pee my pants now. Yuck Anna, I'm disgusting. I can't believe that I think of doing or saying that.
Oh my gosh, he's about to face the window!
In my surprise, damn hell!
"Look who it is?!" I said, cursing.
