Chapter 3: A Devastating Blow!
The expansive auction house fell into a deathly silence at this moment...
The man's footsteps seemed to reverberate in their chests, causing a sense of oppression and unease.
All eyes were fixed on him.
"Who is he? He must be seeking death. Everyone knows that Sylvia is the sinner of the Holland family. Anyone trying to protect her will meet their end," one voice murmured.
"A reckless fool. He's doomed! The top four richest families are not to be trifled with," another voice chimed in.
"Wait, did he say that Sylvia is his sister? Could it be... Quentin Holland?"
"So, it's him, the waste of space."
"Back then, he was set up and almost sent to prison. Now he dares to return?"
Discussions and sneers filled the air.
Kai halted his movements, his gaze abruptly fixing on Quentin. "You, the rapist, dare to show your face here?"
Quentin remained silent, but the aura of menace surrounding him continued to escalate.
The scent of blood seemed to thicken in the entire space.
"Master Kai, watch out!" the host on the stage cautioned.
Kai sneered disdainfully. "This guy is just a waste. Dare he make a move against me?"
"Today, even if I trample his face underfoot, he can do nothing about it!"
Upon seeing Quentin, Sylvia's body quivered, tears streaming down her face.
"Brother—"
Quentin's eyes stung, as he thought about his deceased parents. Seeing his sister's current state, remorse engulfed his heart. "I'm sorry for being late, sis."
Kai continued to sneer.
"Quentin, since you've returned, you must know your useless parents have been taken care of by us, right?"
"If even your parents couldn't outwit us, how can a good-for-nothing like you possibly compete with us?"
"I'll give you a chance. Kneel down today and kiss my feet. Perhaps, I might spare your life."
"And, as for your sister, I'll take her. When I'm tired of her—"
Quentin lifted his head, giving Kai a deathly stare.
"Dare to lay a finger on my sister, and I'll send you to hell," a furious roar erupted as Quentin's fist struck Kai.
"Ah—" A piercing shriek echoed through the vast auction house as Kai was sent hurtling. A massive bloodied cavity appeared on his chest...
He died on the spot!
"Hiss—"
The entire auction house fell into a stunned silence. Quentin, so audaciously, had killed Kai with a single punch? He had definitely gone mad!
"Eileen, empty this space," Quentin's voice was chilling. "You have thirty seconds. Anyone daring to remain here will join him in death!"
These words sent shivers down everyone's spines.
Eileen walked in from the sidelines, her voice ice-cold as she scanned the crowd. "This is your final chance to live. Leave."
Those who were frightened out of their wits immediately rushed towards the door...
Soon, only the staff members in the auction house remained, all glaring coldly at Quentin and his companion.
The host gnashed his teeth. "Quentin, you have some nerve. Do you know whose territory this is? Stirring trouble here spells your demise."
Quentin paid him no mind.
He advanced, tearing open the iron cage and embracing Sylvia tightly.
"I'm sorry, it's all my fault for being late," he choked, tears welling up, his emotions breaking down.
"Quentin, it's not your fault. If anyone is to blame, it's those scoundrels. They deserve to die."
Sylvia gazed at the stalwart figure before her, her heart aching. Perhaps, Quentin's pain was tenfold deeper than hers...
"I will avenge our parents. The top four richest families and all involved will pay a heavy price!" Quentin's voice resonated with an overwhelming intensity of murderous intent.
"Rubbish." The host, ignored by Quentin, was consumed with fury.
"Right now, gather everyone here and eliminate him," he bellowed with rage.
"Yes, sir."
In no time, the hall was inundated by a surge of people from all directions. Ten, twenty, thirty... over a hundred!
The crowd grew denser, holding weapons, exuding a menacing aura and inching closer towards Quentin and his allies...
"Brother—" Sylvia's voice trembled, her lips turning pale.
"Don't be afraid." Quentin patted her back. "With me here, not a single harm will come to you."
"Brat, today, you've killed Master Kai on Roberto's turf. You're as good as dead!" the host gritted his teeth with venom.
"So what? Today, you auctioned off my sister as a slave; there's only one way to settle this!"
The host's face was full of disdain. "I'm not afraid of you at all. Even if you can fight, can you take on a hundred men? Each of them can easily end you with a single blow!"
"However... I won't let you die so easily. I'll break your legs and hand you over to Roberto for disposal!"
"Attack—"
With a snap of his fingers, the hundred or so people surged, closing in with a ferocious momentum, their killing intent growing stronger by the second...
