Chapter 9: Little Brother

Jimin's red and swollen eyes fluttered, lips parted as he breathed through his mouth, and tears started to stream down again at the thought of Taehyung. His heart broke when he recalled his best friend's death. He curled up, bringing his knees to his chest as he wrapped his entire body.

"Taehyung-ah..." He whimpered, body trembled as his lips quiver and gritted his teeth. "I miss you so much."

"Jimin?" A familiar voice entered the room, finally seeing Jimin after taking care of him the whole night.

The Beta was happy that he gets to see him again—his brother, after finding him here last night, he asked Jungkook if he could be the one to take care of him.

Of course, the younger was curious as to why the Min Yoongi would take care of a stranger, but he managed to trick the alpha in his own ways. He didn't risk telling Jungkook that Jimin was his own brother, and a vampire—a Duke at that.

But does Jungkook knows that his brother is a Duke? Knowing that he was the one who found him at the forest—maybe he did.

"Y-Yoongi hyung?" Jimin's voice cracked, wiping his tears and sniffled as he slowly leaned on his elbows with Yoongi slowly pushing him back to the bed to let him lean on the headboard.

"Listen boy," Yoongi said sternly, putting a blanket over his lower body gently— not wanting to hurt the other. "Don't get up. You're still hurt."

Jimin's eyebrows arched, demented at his brother's presence right in front of him. "W-What—hyung?"

His mouth parted, eyeing his brother to make sure that he is real. Tears formed on his eyes, lips trembled as a small smile curved up on his lips. "Are you r-real?"

"Of course, I am." Yoongi answered with a grin.

"Where are we? What are we doing here?"

"I'm a werewolf, Jimin." The Beta sighed. "Of course I should be in the werewolf territory."

"Werewolf territory?" Jimin looked at him confusedly. "You mean I'm at–"

"Yes Jimin you are. You are here at the Moon Pack, under the command of Alpha Jeon."

"Werewolves?" Jimin asked in horror. "Alpha Jeon?"

"What are you so afraid of?" Yoongi sighed heavily. "Don't worry, they didn't know you are a vampire and a Duke at that. Tiá must've hid your vampire scent knowing I can't smell it from you."

Jimin gulped down. "The werewolf scent is overflowing you now since you're a werewolf as well."

He was baffled— but what made him baffled was the existence of the wolves. "Weren't the werewolves killed?"

"Some survived, Jiminie." Yoongi answered, a sorrowful expression written on his face. "And I did too."

"Hyung," Jimin cowered his head in shame, as tears spilled on his eyes. "Do you know how scared I was?"

He looked at his brother on the face. "Do you know how petrified I was when Hoseok hyung provoked Taehyung to kill all the wolves?"

Yoongi watched his brother in pity and his heart ached just by witnessing how his brother who was loved by his family and a Duke became so weak.

"I haven't seen you for a thousand years, hyung." Jimin's lips trembled, gaze fixing Yoongi's gaze. "I was afraid that I've lost you that time— knowing that in my mind you might be dead a thousand years ago. Hence, I still believed that you were still alive but lose my hope when there was an announcement to massacre the wolf race."

Yoongi's chest twinged, questions arises like 'What happened back then?' and 'Why and how did you become a vampire?'

"Jimin-ah." Yoongi called his brother ever so softly with tenderness. "I have been living fine ever since you disappeared after saying you need to save your girlfriend."

Yoongi continued. "So please don't blame yourself."

Jimin nodded, understanding before leaning forward. "But H-Hyung, where is mom and dad?"

"They died," Yoongi answered bluntly. "They've live for more than a thousand years already."

Jimin froze, his chest aches at the thought of his own parents dying without being by their side. "Did they—"

"Don't worry, Jiminie." Yoongi forced out a smile. "They died without any regrets."

Of course, they died missing their youngest. They died without Jimin, and of course they died with regrets. But Yoongi doesn't want his brother to know.

Jimin cowered down. "I missed them hyung."

"I missed them too." Yoongi pressed his lips into thin line.

"Thank you for letting me stay, Tía." Jimin bowed, politely before he looked above to see Caroline smiling at him.

"You are special, child." She said, patting Jimin's shoulder before leaving the two of them with a nod.

Tía really did cover his scent, and she knows that Jimin is a vampire along with Jungkook, but decided to hide his scent to avoid any complains from the pack. However, they didn't know about him being a Duke considering Yoongi was the only one who held all the reports regarding the Vampire Kingdom.

Jimin and Yoongi watched as the Tía of the pack walked away from them before the Duke looked at his older brother as they walked together back to the tent.

But then Jimin suddenly stopped making Yoongi looked at him demented. "Everything alright?"

Jimin's nose crunched, trying to figure out the familiar scent around the area. But somehow, that familiar scent would be overlapped with another scent that is too familiar to him.

Taehyung? Why is Taehyung's blood scent is here? Jimin shook his head, before mentally reminding himself that his best friend is already gone— heartbreaking to admit it, but he does not want to break down in tears again, especially when his brother is around.

"Are you alright?" Yoongi asked again, facing Jimin.

Jimin looked at him before shaking his head and continue walking. "Hyung?"

Yoongi hummed in response before Jimin questioned. "How did you managed to survive all these years?"

Jimin sighed, continuing. "After mother and father's death?"

Yoongi blinked, taken back by his younger brother's question before answering, nonchalantly. "I lived my whole life like a corpse—"

A smile crept on his lips. "Until I met someone years ago, and made her the reason for me to live until something happened recently."

"You have a lover?" Yoongi nodded with a blush.

The beta frowned, sadness was evident on his face and Jimin noticed the sorrowful feeling his brother had. "But sadly..."

"Sadly?"

"She already found her mate..." Yoongi was still baffled at the idea of Taehyung trying to steal his beloved yet Jungkook is Ha Na's mate.

Jimin doesn't have any idea who his brother was talking about but Yoongi was thinking about Ha Na— his ex lover who turned out to be the future Luna of the pack, and a wife to the man he pledge his life to.

Jimin couldn't even hear his older brother's thoughts— it was hard for him to figure out what Yoongi was thinking.

"A mate? You mean you fell in love with someone who wasn't your mate?" Jimin's eyes widened in shock making Yoongi chuckled bitterly.

"Ridiculous right?" Yoongi's eyebrows furrowed and Jimin parted his lips to say something but was cut off. "You? What about you?"

Jimin stared at Yoongi for a while, noticing how his brother just changed the topic. He decided to let it go. "I've been living fine until that Namjoon decided to betray us, and I found my mate too— sadly, I lost her."

"Oh..." Yoongi cooed, didn't even bother asking more about his soulmate since it might be a heartbreaking topic for him.

"Hyung..." Jimin called, snapping Yoongi out of his thoughts. "You knew about me being a Duke right?"

Yoongi nodded.

"Then why didn't you ever appear in front of me?" Jimin fiddled with his fingers as he waited for his brother's answer.

"Jiminie," Yoongi heavily sighed. "You are a Duke..."

Jimin's eyes met Yoongi's gaze. "Back then, wolf territories and vampires were never one. It was hard for me to approach you as a wolf. Even if we got the chance to meet, it was even more harder since you became a Duke. I didn't want them to find out about your true identity."

"But hyung—"

"I never regretted everything that I did."

Jimin looked flustered by his words, speechless and overwhelmed that his brother turned out to be caring. "Even until the end, you still protected me."

"Of course, you are my little brother." Yoongi answered honestly but suddenly stopped on his tracks as Jimin stopped from walking as well.

"I have to go." Yoongi gulped. "You rest back in my room. I have to go somewhere."

"Where though?"

"The Alpha's mate is already awake." Yoongi sadly smiled, pain shooting his heart again at the thought of Ha Na yet excitement filled his body— happy that the one he loved is already awake.

Jimin nodded, understanding the situation of his brother. The Alpha Jeon must've mind linked him, and he can't hear mind links of the werewolves.

"Also, I will be busy for a week. So I might not see you." Yoongi informed.
