Chapter 2: Regret
(+) Mature scene
Milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months—three months to be exact. Those months has been a torture to Namjoon, the current king of vampire and human races. Those days has been horrible to him with no one around to be by his side.
He sent Seokjin to the prison who was unwilling to participate with him. It was in Jin's nature to be loyal towards Taehyung. He locked Hoseok inside his room, never having his freedom ever since he decided to attack Namjoon back then. He had Jimin fall into his illness ever since Taehyung's death and he has been eaten by his own guilt, blaming himself that he was the one who drove Taehyung to his death instead of Namjoon.
Despite the hatred, deaths and coldness from his loved ones inside the palace, Namjoon had to stay strong. However, he became ruthless, wicked, violent, merciless, brutal and everything evil that describes him. His way of ruling over both races was even more terrifying than Taehyung's rule. That was his only way to show his strength and power towards them—to let them know who now rules the Kingdom.
Right now, he walked down to his mistress' room whom he doesn't have any idea what is her name. These past few months, it has always been like that. Namjoon bringing in concubines—never appointed a Queen because the only Queen he considered in his kingdom and heart will always and forever be Elisse, his soulmate. If he were to count his concubines, it would take around more than 200 inside his harem in just a span of 3 months. But no one could ever satisfy his thirst.
Namjoon' s eyes widened, choking his own saliva when he realised that there was someone underneath him. His breath hitched as he fucked her senselessly while the concubine kept on moaning his name. But this frustrated Namjoon to the fullest leading him to slap the woman underneath.
"Namjoon!" The woman yelped, covering her swollen cheeks while looking at Namjoon who just sobered up already.
"How dare you call me by my name?! I am the King!" Namjoon hissed, reminding her place. The only punishment he could give to the woman was fuck her hard to the point of ripping and tearing her apart.
Instead of hurting in pain, the woman was having fun—it was an honour for her to get pleasured hard by the King. And she did call and moan 'King', not wanting to interrupt their little moment. However, the way that the woman was acting, it enraged the ruler even more than he imagined. He wanted her to experience pain, fear, to see her cry but no, the woman was so pleasured.
Namjoon's eyes turned red—a sign of anger, and before the woman could react, when she saw his eyes, Namjoon already sank his teeth deep on her neck and drained out her energy and blood leading the woman to become lifeless. It almost satisfied Namjoon to the fullest. Other than being able to drink blood, he was satisfied that he got to kill 34 concubines just this week. It didn't even bother nor surprise him to know that since everyday, he would be able to bring another 2-3 concubines.
Namjoon's thought was brought back to Elisse as he watched the lifeless body. He shook his head and turned around, dressing himself up.
Do I have to wait another thousand years for you to appear again? Namjoon thought, suppressing his tears. Why is the world so cruel to our destiny?
Ever wondered how Namjoon ended up being like this? It's because he has lost his soulmate. Elisse will always be the only one who could satisfy his longing and thirst, both by blood and pleasure.
As soon as he finished the girl, he instructed the guards outside to dispose the corpse in which they did it right away. One thing that came out of his mind was to release his frustration to Seokjin, and that, he found his way towards the dungeon where he sent Jin to.
He entered the prison, meeting Seokjin's eyes who seemed already exhausted from the torture, and not being able to eat nor drink blood for a few weeks. And sure, Namjoon did regret everything.
Seokjin inhaled sharply, pressing his lips into thin line as his eyes never left Namjoon who walked towards him. He already expected for the current king to visit him since it has always been like that everyday. Namjoon visiting Seokjin wasn't much a shock anymore.
Namjoon always talked to Seokjin, how his life became miserable over the past months—generally, how his life has been everyday. How he missed them but never did he tell Jin about him regretting about it.
"Did you touch another girl again?" Seokjin asked softly, expression remained emotionless. "Was it with consent this time or not?"
Namjoon sighed and sat, leaning back on the rails that separated the two. "That's none of your business."
Seokjin decided not to speak and remained silent, waiting for Namjoon to share his day. The eldest has always been a great listener and willing to listen to the others despite being cruel to him.
"Hyung." Namjoon started, facing Seokjin. "Why don't you become my right hand? Then Jimin would be my left hand. Hoseok would be my advisor."
Seokjin shook his head, looking down before looking back at Namjoon who has his eyes screaming with hope. He put on a smug, a bitter chuckle left his mouth. "Why?"
He wanted to irritate Namjoon. "Is it getting too lonely for you? I guess everyone has left you, right? Or maybe you locked them inside the palace."
Seokjin was aware that Hoseok and Jimin are still in the palace while the Princess was killed after Taehyung died. He was heartbroken by the thought, and no hope was left for him. Even if there was, he wouldn't grab the opportunity if it means having a bad conclusion. He didn't get why Namjoon had to kill the Princess when she did nothing except witnessing her brother's death. Why would he kill the Princess too?
That was what Seokjin heard from the guards after being inside the prison for so long. He didn't even know how many days he has been stuck inside this prison. It almost felt like a year to him. Nonetheless, Namjoon didn't answer the Duke. In fact, he doesn't know what to tell him. He can't seem to get out the right words to say. He was afraid his own words might backfire him.
Seokjin chuckled bitterly. "I guess this is how karma paid you a visit."
Namjoon opened his mouth to say something, yet again, no words came out. He was speechless. He has never won any fight against Seokjin and if he ever did, he himself would always end up being the bad one while Seokjin has the good decisions.
That's why he was afraid that his own words might betray him.
Even with Seokjin waiting for Namjoon to defend himself, the boy just stared at him. Seokjin understood the situation Namjoon was in. But no matter how much Namjoon apologises, he will never ever forgive him for what he did. Not only did he betray his best friend, but also the people in his now kingdom.
Seokjin snorted, tears cascaded down his cheeks, and quickly wiped it off while he locked gaze with Namjoon. His next words struck a hole to Namjoon's heart, creating an aching and agonising pain in his chest.
"You will be forever lonely in exchange for your greediness, Namjoon."
Namjoon smiled pitifully, mentally told himself. I guess I deserved this.
