5. Chaos at the Hallway - 1
Mira POV
Bella and Kevin were walking toward us. Holding hands. Calm, powerful, untouchable.
Glory froze, anger draining from her face, replaced by shock.
Leave her alone!” Kevin barked, his voice cutting through the hallway.
Glory froze for a second, then stuttered. “B-But Alpha Kevin… she’s not sorry for what she did to you. We’re only teaching her a lesson—”
“It’s okay,” Kevin said softly, yet his tone carried steel. He reached out and gently removed Glory’s hand from my blouse. The other girls hesitated.
Kevin’s gaze snapped to the others. “Release them. Now.”
They obeyed. Reluctantly.
He turned to me, and my stomach dropped. His expression was calm, but there was a weight to it that made the air thick. “Mira… unfortunately, I think they might be right,” he said quietly.
I froze.
He slowly spun in a circle, surveying the hallway, his eyes sharp and calculating. My wolf growled low in my chest, a warning I couldn’t ignore. Every instinct in me bristled, fur rising beneath my skin.
“Look at the discomfort you’re causing everyone.” he said, hands pressed lightly to his chest. “Even though it pains me… I think you should transfer. This would be best—for everyone.”
I didn’t move.
He turned to the crowd, voice firm and commanding. “I’m speaking for everyone here.”
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” the girls chorused, their voices shrill with approval.
“Tell her to go. One girl, scram! We don’t want a pervert in our midst!”
I scoffed, letting my voice rise. “I’m not going anywhere. Last time I checked, none of you paid my school fees.”
Bella’s eyes narrowed, her lips curling with rage. She stepped closer. “What did you just say? After everything you’ve done… you still have the guts to talk back? You should be on your knees, begging for mercy at his feet!”
Kevin’s gaze flicked to me, calm, measured. “She’s right,” he said. “The right thing for you is to apologize to me after everything you put her through.”
I scoffed again, shaking my head. “So this is who you are,” I muttered, glancing at the crowd. “I swear I’m not the one lying. He’s the one feeding you lies.”
“I’m tired,” Kevin said, throwing his hands up. “You know what? Girls, drag her out. We don’t need this kind of toxic energy.”
But they didn’t even wait for him to finish. Every single one of them lunged for me. Tina tried to intervene, but she was shoved aside like she didn’t exist.
Just as their hands were about to grab me…
Everything stopped.
The air shifted. The wind seemed to vanish.
And then I smelled him.
Klaus Saint. That unmistakable scent — sharp, intoxicating, dangerous — hit me like a storm.
The room seemed to bend around him. Silence fell. Even the chaos froze in place.
“Let her go.”
The voice boomed, powerful, authoritative, impossible to ignore.
“Take your hands off my girlfriend. Now.”
And just like that… every hand on me vanished.
He walked forward like a storm given human form.
When he reached me, he cupped my face in his hands as if I were the rarest treasure in the world.
The hallway inhaled.
“Are you okay, baby?”
For a heartbeat, I froze. Then I shook my head, playing along, curious about whatever he was planning.
He turned toward the crowd, eyes blazing with fury.
“From today on, anyone who touches her answers to me.”
He took my hand, guiding me away. “Come on, baby, let’s go.”
But then Bella stepped in front of us, eyes wide, anger and disbelief mixing on her face.
“What the hell is going on, Klaus? How is this thing your girlfriend?”
Klaus chuckled. “I know it’s hard to believe… but it’s the truth.”
“You’re just doing this to get back at me,” Kevin barked, stepping forward, his jaw tight. “What, dating my ex is supposed to make you look cool?”
Klaus’s smile was icy, infuriatingly calm. “Why are you describing yourself? You rejected your mate… just to date my ex. Be honest. Tell everyone the truth. You didn’t reject Mira before — yesterday was the first time, because she caught you cheating on her with my ex.”
“What is going on? Who’s telling the truth?” a girl shouted, confused.
“Alpha Klaus is right,” a boy murmured loud enough for everyone to hear. “Why’s Kevin acting like a saint when he’s doing the same thing?”
“That’s a lie!” Kevin yelled, spinning to face the crowd. “I don’t know what Klaus is saying — it’s not true!”
“Pathetic,” Klaus said calmly, pulling me closer.
“Klaus, are you really dating her?” Bella called, her voice trembling.
We all turned to look at her. She was lost, stunned, completely unable to process the scene.
“Yes,” Klaus said, nodding. “Mira is my girlfriend.” He raised my hand like he was claiming a prize.
“But we just broke up!” Bella’s voice rang out, sharp with disbelief.
“I broke up with you,” Klaus said, his tone calm but deadly. “Because I don’t love you. I told you from the start — when you were throwing yourself at me — that I wasn’t interested. We were just fuck buddies. Sure, I enjoyed the sex at first, but it’s boring now. I’ve moved on. And you… you should too. With your new boyfriend.”
“Leave them,” Kevin said to Bella, putting a hand on her shoulder. “He’ll soon regret dating a psycho stalker.”
Klaus’s dark eyes flicked toward Kevin. We both know the truth, Kevin,” he said, his voice low but cutting through the noise. “You’re the one who stalked the poor girl. In fact… didn’t you send her a certain picture last night?”
“What?! When did I?!” Kevin stammered, his face going pale. “Now you’re just making stuff up — no one will believe you!”
Klaus’s grin was slow, cruel, and magnetic. “Don’t worry… soon, they will.”
