CHAPTER 7
ARGON
"No, I will not listen!" Alpha Deron sparked at both Estelle and I.
It's been two days since that incident, and he has refused to listen to my apology.
I have tried so many ways to get him to accept my plea. I even bought him gifts that suites his taste as an Alpha, but he still rejected it, showing how mad he was over what that foolish Brielle did.
"Daddy, please. How long are you going to be mad at Argon? You know it wasn't his fault? It was that wolfless and worthless ex of his, " Estelle said, begging on my behalf.
I also joined her, blaming Brielle for what had happened.
"Alpha Deron, you have every right to he mad at me. What happened shouldn't have occurred if I had placed that vile woman in her place. But as we speak, she's serving her punishment," I said, hoping he would be pleased about it.
And yes, he was.
Where he sat on his couch with his arms crossed, Alpha Deron showed a sign of pleasure, asking me, "She's being punished?"
"Yes, she is, " I nodded, having a good feeling towards his response.
"I hope it's a punishment worth deserving for her nonsense?"
"The perfect one. I had her locked up for two days without any food to eat. That way she'll learn her lesson," I shared with them, letting out a curve to the side.
And just as I wanted, Alpha Deron smiled out widely.
"That's better. Now I can forgive you, " He said, accepting my apology.
I felt relieved at last. I've been trying to get him to hear me out for two good days. But I am happy that it's all fine now.
All I had to do was tell him about Brielle's punishment and win my future father in-law's heart again.
"It was never your fault, Alpha Argon. That woman had no respect. She's a weakling yet she has forgotten her manners. Rubbish," He chuckled, patting my hand.
I was standing close to him since he was sitting down on his couch.
Alpha Deron pulled a happy Estelle to sit with him, wrapping his arm around her.
"I'm sorry my girl. You know how Daddy gets when his authority is being insulted by someone of no class."
"I know Daddy," Estelle said, hugging him back.
She gave me a secret look, sending an air kiss to me.
I would have caught it like I always do when were together playing love, but as an Alpha before another Alpha who's her father, I need to be moderate.
But that doesn't mean I won't respond to her kiss. I smiled at her, giving her a wink.
"Now listen here, Argon, " Alpha Deron said, gaining my attention.
I immediately looked at him and saw him staring out to nothing while petting his daughter.
"I don't know how long you want that woman to stay in your home, but I advice you drive her out as soon as possible. I can't allow my daughter to stay around such a person. Who knows what she'd do to Estelle," Alpha Deron said, expressing his detest for Brielle.
I nodded at him, assuring him that she'd leave soon.
"Trust me, she won't last long in that mansion. She thinks she can stay there for three months and I'll allow it? I'll make her beg for freedom with her own mouth, " I bragged before Alpha Deron.
He seemed to be pleased with my confidence, showing his believe in me.
"That mansion belongs to only you and Estelle. I won't allow a third wheel to settle in your relationship. Do what is right, fast."
"You have my word, " I promised, bowing at Alpha Deron as a sign of respect.
Now that he finally accepted my apology, I decided to leave and head back home.
Estelle excused herself, escorting me out from the living room, hand in hand.
Walking through the hallway of her home, Estelle suddenly began to laugh.
"What's so funny?" I asked, getting contracted by her laughter.
She kept on laughing, saying, " This is so hilarious. Father can be so dramatic."
"Dramatic? You know he's your father. If someone had tossed a whole jug of juice on my body, I would have done what he did, " I said.
But Estelle was still laughing.
She pulled her hand out of mine, walking to my front while facing me and moving backwards.
"Well yeah, anyone would get mad if such a thing occurred with them. That's why I made it happen."
"Made it happen? What do you mean?" I asked, finding her word confusing.
Having nothing but excitement all over her, Estelle revealed something shocking to me.
"Brielle didn't pour my father that juice intentionally or by mistake. I was the one who made her trip, " She laughed out again.
Stunned, that's how I felt, coming to a halt.
"What?"
"Yes! I wanted her to do something that would cause a big problem, so I carefully raised my leg when she was coming, so she'd fall and ruin everything," She cackled loudly.
I wasn't laughing. I was just staring at her in disbelief.
When Estelle saw my face expression, she asked, " What? Aren't you happy? It's funny isn't it? "
"No, it's not!" I sparked out, causing Estelle to shiver with her eyes bulging out in fear.
This was beyond smiling or laughing. What she did was unacceptable. Not because she used Brielle, but because she allowed me to go through stress just begging her father for her own mess.
"How could you, Estelle?! Why didn't you tell me about this plan before carrying it out?! You know what I went through just to please and get your father to forgive me! What is wrong with you?!"
I was mad at her.
My voice echoing around, leaving Estelle scared. She had to pull closer to me, begging that I keep my voice down.
"Argon, I'm sorry. I thought you'd be happy when I tell you about it. I really didn't plan for you to go through all those stress. My love, forgive me, " She begged, burying herself on y chest.
I know I was mad at her, but I couldn't stay angry with the love of my life.
Relieving my anger, I wrapped my arms around Estelle, forgiving her for her deeds.
"If you want to plan anything next time, you have to tell me first and see if I approve of it, okay?"
"Okay, Baby. I promise."
I kissed her on the lips, assuring her that I wasn't angry with her anymore.
She escorted me out of her home, until I left in my car.
When I arrived at my mansion, I noticed the maids running around in panic. This left me wondering what was going on.
"Why are they running about?" I asked no one, but drew closer to the mansion.
On getting in, I heard a maid requesting for warm water and another requesting for a bowl.
It was as if my home was turned into a market place.
"What's going on here? " I raised, expecting an answer.
"Alpha, you're back," Jerome, my Beta, uttered while standing before me.
"What's all the ruckus? Why are they running about?" I questioned, pointing at the maids who rushed into the passage at the right.
Jerome took a quick look behind before facing me with a sigh.
"Alpha, it's your Lu... I mean it's Brielle."
"Brielle?" I uttered, wondering what she has done.
"What about her? I thought I ordered the guards to lock her up?"
"Yes they did. But she was found unconscious when a maid went to check up on her."
"What?" My heart skittered on hearing that.
Brielle is unconscious?
Jerome goes on to reveal that he called the doctor over to attend to her, saying she's in the room with her.
This left me feeling uncomfortable.
"Could she have fainted because of the punishment?" I asked myself, recalling Estelle's confession.
"What kind of a question am I asking? She hasn't eaten anything for two days. Who won't faint from that?"
Suddenly, a maid came over to inform us that Brielle had woken and the doctor wanted to see me.
My body shivered uncomfortably, as I dragged my feet to go and see her.
When I arrived at the room I moved Brielle to, I met her laying her head on a maid where she stayed on a dirty mat, looking all weak.
The doctor sat next to her on a chair with other maids assisting her, before directing her attention on me when I came in.
"Alpha Argon, it's good that you're here, " The doctor said, rising to her feet.
Brielle's eyes fell on me in her weak state, staring at me. I immediately took mine off her, so I won't stare back.
"Doctor Nicole. It's nice to see you again," I said, shaking hands with her.
"Can we talk privately?" She suggested and I agreed, wondering what she wants to say.
When we were outside, Doctor Nicole asked, "Alpha, why is your wife on the floor? What happened to your room?"
This question came unexpectedly. It didn't occur to me that someone outside would ask such question when they see their Luna in a small room on a dirty mat.
How was I suppose to know she was coming?
I couldn't answer the doctor's question. And she just assumed, "Was it her request? Is it because of her loss?"
"Em... Yes. She... Wanted to be alone."
Doctor Nicole sighed and said, " Alpha, I know you and your wife are still going through the loss of your child, but just try to support each other."
Over the loss of that thing? Who cares?
"I discovered Brielle has not been eating, and that can be dangerous for her. She had a miscarriage and needs to get her full strength back. Please, watch over her and make sure she doesn't stress herself in any way, okay?" She advised, taking out a note to jot something down.
As I watched her, my mind went to that day, when she poured the juice on Alpha Deron.
I slapped her for it, thinking she purposely did that, not knowing it was all Estelle's doing.
"And I left her with nothing in her stomach for two days. Gosh!" A slight feeling of guilt overwhelmed me instantly.
I know I don't like her, but... I can't help but blame myself for her state.
"Give her these food and fruits. She would be fine again in no time," Doctor Nicole said, handing me the paper.
I took it and appreciated her help, escorting her out of my home.
I took a look at the list and gave a sigh out.
"Maybe I can use this to compensate for the misunderstanding. Not that I care. I just don't want people to think their Alpha is devilish for starving his Ex-Luna. Besides, it was Estelle's doing, not mine."
I gave the list to a maid to prepare the necessary for Brielle. I made my way to my room to change, before returning back to meet with my Beta.
But somehow, I found myself heading to Brielle's room to check up on her.
I just wanted to see if she was served her meal.
When I got there, I met her sitting on the mat with the same maid that offered her lap to her as her pillow.
The maid was feeding Brielle while comforting her with sweet words.
"You're going to be alright soon, Luna. Just eat up and get better, okay?" She said with smiles, making Brielle happy.
But I wasn't.
"Don't let me hear you call her that again!" I ordered in anger, making my presence known to both Brielle and the maid.
They both looked at me in shock, lowering their heads down.
Brielle was struggling to look away from me. Her eyes kept meeting with my gaze.
"She is no longer your Luna. She is just a homeless beggar seeking refuge from me. Your Luna is Estelle. Is that clear?!"
"Yes, Alpha, " The maid agreed, bowing way down.
I glared at Brielle, who gasped in fear, before finally breaking the lock, looking away.
"Rubbish."
I snarled at this, leaving the room.
And here I was having a bit of sympathy for her. She deserves that punishment.
