Chapter Six

The shower had Fae so agitated, she??d called Cravis every nasty name she knew under her breath before he stopped scrubbing and gave her a look that told her he??d heard. She kept her mouth shut after that but let the insults stream unhindered in her head. The big hands lathering up every inch turned her into a boneless mass of need. But Cravis curtly refused to give her what she??d practically begged for.

Bedded down on the office sofa, arms crossed tight over her blanket-bound chest, hair a damp mess on the pillow, Fae glared at the ceiling.

Why must everything be done his way? Travis wouldn??t have made me wait.

The ungrateful thought shocked her. What Cravis had given her already was precious. She might have spent eternity denied the exquisite things he and Travis had done to her. She had to be patient.

But she couldn??t just lie there anymore. She pushed off the sofa, kicking the blankets from where they clung to her legs, and went to the desk to dress in the clothes Travis had left her. Her days of watching the beautiful women of this world told her how to don each piece, from the panties, to the chemise, to the simple, white dress.

In the bathroom, she checked her appearance in the mirror while she tamed her hair with a comb she found. The wet strands were a little darker than the dry ones, giving her hair a new depth, a nice contrast from the flawless golden cloud that usually floated around her. Now it spilled down her back, slipped over her shoulders, drifted across her face to cover one eye. Even the blue of her eyes seemed different, a little brighter, sparkling with an inner light that had nothing to do with divinity. Her cheeks were flushed, her lips were red, and the white of the dress brought out the colors. She was sure Cravis and Travis would be pleased. They seemed to like looking at her.

With that in mind, she walked out of the office, a smile on her face. The smile died when she took in the scene playing out in the club.

Travis had a girl on the bar, her skirt rolled up to her waist, her head thrown back as he jabbed into her. Cravis sat, watching them, his hand between the thighs of a girl sitting on the table before him. The girl freed her breasts from her shirt and tweaked her own nipples. Cravis laughed.

??Very nice.?? He pulled his hand out and brought it to his mouth, grinning as the girl rubbed herself vigorously. ??Get down here. I want to see how well you suck dick. That??s more important than knowing how to carry a full tray.??

The girl giggled and hopped off the table. On her knees, she took Cravis??s ??dick?? in her hands and dipped down to cover him with her mouth.

Fae gnashed her bottom lip with her teeth. She wanted to retreat to the office and hide. But the shadows down the short hall beckoned. There was a door at the end, under a sign that read ??Exit.??

She headed for it, pausing for a moment with her hand on the door. Cravis and Travis had given her a lot, but not enough. She needed answers, and she wouldn??t shame herself by seeking them from the men who seemed to have forgotten about her. Answers like: Why could she only seek pleasure from Cravis and Travis, and only when they chose to give it, when they could find it anywhere? Did they care for all those woman, or had everything they??d told her been lies?

She pushed the door open and stepped into the sun with a sense of empowering self-awareness. She??d learn the truth. Then, maybe, she would return.

??She??s gone,?? Travis said after taking much too long in the office where he was supposed to be inviting Fae to an early dinner. Cravis had ordered a banquet of takeout, Chinese, Greek, Italian, sure Fae would enjoy the diversity. He??d dismissed all the waitresses to get some privacy. He didn??t want Fae around those girls. Fun as they were, they might give her ideas he didn??t want in her sweet little head.

And here Travis was, alone, saying the wrong thing. Cravis looked at his brother over the brown paper bag with the dragon insignia.

??What do you mean ??she??s gone??? Did you check the bathroom???

??Of course I checked, I??m not stupid.?? Travis??s nostrils flared when Cravis stood and bared teeth gone to fang. He slammed his fist on the table, upsetting the porcelain bowls of won ton soup Cravis had set up. ??Don??t look at me like that. I wasn??t expecting her to take off on her own, but she did. She got dressed in the clothes I left for her and walked out.?? He pushed away from the table. ??Maybe she came to see us while we were??busy.??

Cravis snorted then strode away from the table, throwing open the door to the office. He eyed the blanket on the floor then sniffed the air, lightly scented of blood, the musky aroma of sex, and faintly of the sweet, clean smell of the soap and shampoo he??d used on Fae. The faded scents told him she??d been gone for a while.

??You may be right,?? Cravis said as Travis came up behind him. ??The body of a woman and the mind of a child. She??ll be back when her little temper tantrum??s lost its appeal.??

Travis went to the desk to fetch a cigar. He held it between his teeth as he flicked a Zippo. ??Or she??ll get scared. Or horny.??

Cravis snatched the cigar from his brother and set it between his own lips, laughing at his brother??s protest. Puffing away, he settled in the large leather chair behind the desk, recalling the look on Fae??s face when she had seen him become true darkness, a complete lack of light, even as he had plunged into her. She??d come back, and when she did, maybe he??d punish her for real. The idea of spanking that pert little ass made him hard as hell. He shifted uncomfortably.

??You think Fae will keep you from getting bored again, Cravis??? Travis smirked at Cravis adjusting himself.

Scowling, Cravis bit down on the cigar. ??I think she will. I think, handled right, she could entertain me for quite a while.??

Travis donned the sunglasses he kept hooked to the pocket of his shirt, preparing for their meeting with a bouncer they hoped to employ. He opened the closet door and glanced at the gilded mirror inside, grinning at the writhing bodies that flowed in the reflection around him, lips parted in soundless screams. The wraiths in the mirror reached out to Travis. Travis made a face at them and turned away.

??You sure you don??t want to look for her???

Cravis arched a brow at his brother. Fine, Travis wasn??t known for his patience, but he??d already had the girl. Still puffing at the cigar, Cravis shook his head. ??Wait, just a little, Travis. If she??s not here by nightfall, we??ll go. But for now, let her learn why she should be grateful for all we can give her.??

Travis grinned, so like a handsome boy, full of mischief. ??The grateful ones are the easiest to train.?? He held up his hand, wiggled his fingers, and laughed. ??I??m looking forward to training that one.??
