Chapter 4

I get out of the shower and check the time on my phone. I put on a simple dress and put on light makeup before going down to the kitchen where my grandmother was dressed in a red dress that suited her perfectly!

"Wow grandma! You look beautiful!" I exclaimed

She smiles at me and walks over to me before stroking my cheek.

"You too Emily. You look so beautiful in that dress.

-Thank you grandma.

-You're welcome my dear. Can you help me lay the cutlery?

-Sure !

I help him put the cutlery and when everything is ready, we head to the living room while waiting for these two imbeciles who serve as my parents to arrive.

I wonder how they would react when they see me. Would they be shocked? Angry? Disgusted? Or happy? Pff, I'm sure they will pull the face.

When I watched my grandmother wiggle her fingers, I knew something was wrong. She seemed extremely nervous, which is quite rare coming from her. But why is she so stressed?

"Are you okay grandma? I see something's bothering you? What's going on?!"

She gives me a forced smile before answering me.

"It's just, I'm very nervous. I wonder what they have to say and it must be really important because they come here. They only come to my house when it's urgent. I I have a bad feeling."

Me too by the way.

"Don't worry Grandma. Everything will be fine. I'm here." I said trying to calm her down.

But it's my turn to stress when I hear the doorbell ring.

My grandmother gets up to open the door and I already feel my legs shaking when I hear this voice that I hadn't heard for five long years.

"Are you letting us in?" Said a female voice that I recognized immediately.

My mother".

"Are you letting us in?"

My grandmother pushes herself slightly to let my "parents" pass.

I freeze when I see them. Five years that I have not seen their faces! Five years I've waited for them to come and visit me in prison! Five years that I have suffered from their absence!

When my mother finally notices me, her eyes immediately fill with anger and contempt. I smile at her to annoy her and I think it's successful considering the way she clenches her fists.

I'm glad you're here too.

I thought

"Maria! What is that idiot doing here?!"

She yelled at my grandmother

Granny flashes my mother and opens her mouth to yell at her but I cut her off immediately.

"Good evening. I too am very happy to see you again after five long years. You haven't changed at all. Still so stupid, arrogant, immature and hungry for money. Do you want a coffee? A tea? With or without sugar Or maybe milk? Or chocolate? I said sarcastically giving him a triumphant smile

She turns red with anger and glares at me, clenching her fists. If she had horns on her head and smoke coming out of her nostrils, she would be the perfect copy of the devil!

"That's enough !" yelled my grandmother.

"Maria, what is this whore doing here?!" Asked my "mother" again

"She lives here and if you're not happy and you're against it, just get out of my house, my door is wide open! I can even hold the wrist for you!" yelled my grandmother

My "parents" are throwing lightning bolts at me that I didn't know. I wanted to insult them and hit them, but seeing granny's glare, I immediately changed my mind.

However, an idea comes to my mind and I believe that this evening will go wonderfully finally.

My grandmother asks my parents to move into the kitchen, and looks at me strangely while I smile stupidly thinking of my genius plan.

"Why are you grinning stupidly? I thought you weren't happy to see your parents. What's going on? Are you sure you're okay?" She asked me

"Nothing Grandma and I'm fine, don't worry."

She squints, trying to figure out what I'm up to, then heads into the kitchen. I follow her and see my "parents" sitting at the table whispering to each other. It's not possible ! Those fools are surely up to something against me. Besides, I think grandma thinks the same thing as me given the face she makes.

"They look like kids, those two."

she whispered, shaking her head.

I laugh softly seeing the face she makes. She seems so exasperated with their immature behavior.

"What are you talking about ?" I asked them loud enough for them to hear me

They jump before turning around and throwing lightning at me. Apparently they only know how to do that.

"But why are you looking at me like that? Come on! Tell me what you're up to against your daughter. It must be so funny with the look on your face!"

My mother breathes heavily, clenching her jaw while my father smiles hypocritically at me before speaking.

"Well, we were talking about Leo. We're so happy that he found a woman more beautiful and smarter than you, and at least she didn't kill anyone on her wedding day.

-RICHARD!" yelled my grandmother

How dare he say that to me?! I feel the anger welling up inside me, and I clench my jaw and clench my fists with all my might to keep from jumping on him.

My father gives me a triumphant smile, surely happy to have pissed me off and shut me up. However, the game has only just begun and I won't lose to them, not this time!

I quickly calm down so my "dad" can get the smirk off his face before I lose patience and my fists land in his line-filled face! yuck!

"That's enough now! Stop behaving like four-year-olds! If you came here to do anything, get out of here now!"

yelled my grandmother

The poor. She screamed so many times that I don't think she would have a voice tomorrow.

"You're right grandma. I'm really sorry for my behavior." I say lowering my head

She sighs and takes me in her arms.

"It's nothing my dear. Can you serve the meal please?

I'm tired." She said as she sat down on a chair.

I smile and go to serve them, starting first with my grandmother and then the other two idiots who didn't bother to thank me.

When I sit down and enjoy my dish quickly, I notice that my parents did not touch their plate. Shit ! But eat good blood otherwise my plan will be useless!

"So Louise, what did you want to tell me?"

Turned granny to my mother

"Well, we found Elisa." Let go of my mother

My grandmother immediately spits out the water she drank and it lands on my mother's face.

Oh fuck !

I can't help myself and burst out laughing under my mother's dark gaze. Her makeup has run off and my god her face is horrible!

"What are you laughing at, you bitch?!" she exclaimed

I stop dead. Don't tell me that idiot dared to call me a bitch?!

Annoyed, I took a piece of bread and shoved it into her mouth before spitting in her face.

My grandmother pulls me by the arm while my father removes the piece of bread from my mother's mouth and gives me a murderous look and if he could kill, I think I would already be dead.

"How dare you do that to your mother you bitch!" shouted my father

Whore ! But he's not going to get into it too?!

He approaches me dangerously and slaps me violently. The slap was so violent that I fell to the ground, slightly stunned.

He did not miss this cretin! I caress my cheek as Grandma helps me up before yelling at her son.

"RICHARD! I DIDN'T RAISE YOU LIKE THIS! IT'S YOUR DAMN DAUGHTER!

"It's okay grandma, he's just an irresponsible father!"

He walks towards me wanting to slap me again, but I take the pitcher of water from the table and spill the contents on his head.

"You kind of..."

I don't let him finish his sentence as the contents of my plate land on his face.

And here is the job!

"ENOUGH NOW! GET OUT OF HERE! NOW! GET OUT OF ME!"

yelled my grandmother at my parents

They head for the door but first, my mother whispers something to Grandma and turns on her heels.

When they finally leave the house, my grandmother looks at me sternly.

Oh oh ! Grandma is not very happy from what I see.

"You're going to clean all this up for me Emily! No, but look at the state of my kitchen! You thought it was a dump or what?!"

she growled

"Sorry Grandma."

She huffs and fixes her gaze on mine.

"She came back.

"Who?" I asked lost.

"Elisa."

"When you say Elisa, you mean, my sister? The daughter of those two things that just left the house?

- Yes Emily. It's your sister who came back and she's the daughter of "your parents" and not of "those two things" as you say." She corrected. "And please don't call them like that in the future, they are not objects let's see!

I am both happy to learn that my big sister has come back because I really wanted to see her. I missed her very much! However, I'm also pissed at her for not visiting me once when I was in prison.

I needed help, comfort and support, and the only person who was able to give it to me was my grandmother. She was the only one who cheered me up when I was in prison. She helped me so much and I'm really grateful to her, but, I also needed my parents, my brother, my sister and also my ex-fiancé at that time, but, none of them didn't come. Any ! I was sad and angry with them, they didn't even think of me once. They didn't even care what I went through in that damn cell.

I shake my head from the bad memories and start cleaning up the mess I made in the kitchen.

"I will help you." Said my grandmother to me picking up the dishes but I stopped her right away

"No grandma. Go and rest, you're really tired and it's my fault that your kitchen looks like a dump so it's up to me to clean everything up.

-Are you sure ? Don't you want me to help you a little?" She asked me.

"I'm sure Grandma. Go get some rest."

She nods and gives me a kiss on the forehead before going up to her room.

I gasp at the mess I've caused in the kitchen because of those two idiots who pushed me over the edge.

I then start cleaning before going up to my room, exhausted.

I remove my makeup, then take off my clothes and put on my pajamas. I jump on my bed and stare at the ceiling.

Even though my plan didn't work out tonight, since my parents didn't eat dinner that I sprinkled with salt, I'm still satisfied.

Indeed, I really enjoyed myself, especially the scene where my grandmother accidentally spat her water on my mother. She really looked like a witch, and even worse with her runny mascara. It was really awful!
