CHAPTER 4
Flynn loved the trill of being in the club setting. He loved the way sweaty bodies grinded against each other on the dance floor as people got high on adrenaline and pleasure.
He downed the vodka in one gulp, loving the buzz it brought him. It was his eight glass in less than an hour but he was not getting drunk faster like he wanted and it was probably because he was a werewolf but he had a plan to drink as much as he could until he couldn't feel his face.
The blonde against him danced well. She was beautiful else she wouldn't have been grinding against him in the first place.
After spending all day buried in pack duties, Flynn hurried to the elite club to let go. Girls had swarmed him like flies, from the moment he entered through the large double doors and the blonde had been the lucky one.
He held on to her waist as she grinded her perky little ass on his groin. She was good, worthy of his bed tonight.
Someone yanked him and he saw his best friend and beta, Jaxon glaring at him and he groaned in annoyance.
"Man, what is it? Can't you see I'm in the middle of something?"
Jaxon pulled him away from the dance floor towards a more secluded part of the club where it was less chaotic and they wouldn't be disturbed by other clubbers itching to get their hands on Flynn but not quiet enough for them to speak in hush tones.
"I can't believe you are here, clubbing?" Jaxon said, his hands flying up in am exaggerated motion.
"I deserve a little break away from the pack duties. You know how hectic it has been these past few days. I need to loosen up and you should too. I've spotted quite a number of stunning ladies that won't mind keeping you company and even doing more if you want" He said with a wink which only annoyed his friend further.
"Can you hear yourself?" Jaxon snapped "Have you forgotten that you are the alpha of a pack? You should be spending time leading the pack and looking for your mate. You've gone on for so many years without a mate, don't you think it's time to settle down?"
Flynn glared at his friend "you know I don't believe in love or this mate thing. I don't even plan to get married"
"You believing in it or not doesn't change the fact that there is someone out there destined for you and she is waiting for you to find her and make her your Luna. Your playboy ways will catch up with you one way or the other" Jaxon argued.
"I don't care about that. She better find a mate to bond with because it'll be useless waiting for me." Flynn scoffed and it angered his friend.
"You need to grow up, Flynn. You don't act as the Alpha you are."
"I don't need you to lecture me so if that's all you have to say, I'll go back to the gorgeous lady waiting for my company. I'll be taking her home so don't bother disturbing me for the rest of the night"
He walked past his best friend, bumping his shoulders against Jaxon to let him know he was pissed out by his lectures.
As he walked back to the dance floor, he stopped the waiter passing by with a tray of drink and downed two glass loving the sharp taste as it tingled his senses.
The blonde girl wore a wide grin when he pulled her with him and made his way to the exit of the club.
Emily was deeply asleep when a sharp pain in her lower abdomen forced her awake. She moaned in pain and rolled over so she was laying on her stomach with a pillow placed under it.
Beads of sweat began to lace her forehead and she couldn't stop the scream that tore out of her lips as a new wave of intense pain crashed through her entire body.
Emily plucked the second pillow laying next to her head and placed it between her lips so she could bite down on it and muffle her screams. She didn't want to wake up her kids or best friend.
"Not again" She cried as her stomach walls clenched hard and tears flowed down the side of her face.
She hoped she wouldn't have to feel the pain of her mate sleeping with someone else but it had become part of her routine since the bastard was always at it most nights.
Emily made her choice between if he was going at it knowing she was feeling the pain and didn't care or he didn't but she prayed it was the latter. She didn't want to come to terms that he may not care that he was hurting her.
"Mommy" A timid hushed voice called from her bedroom door and Emily moaned in protest. She didn't want her kids to see her this way.
"Finn baby, why are you awake?" She managed to ask but her voice was breathless. She couldn't even sit up.
"We heard you screaming. Are you hurt, mommy?" Finn asked, eyes wide with fear. He moved into the room and Emily saw Quinn come in too. She was clutching her favorite bunny stuffy and blanky but her eyes were terrified when she saw her mommy in such a terrible state.
"Are you going to die, mommy?" Quinn asked with her bottom lips trembling.
Emily gasped in surprise and managed to laugh but winced when the action only caused her more discomfort.
"No, I'm not going to die, not when I have you both with me. Mommy is just a little tired because of work" She replied and managed to sit up.
Emily opened her arms wide and the twins hurried to climb the bed. They fell to her awaiting arms and she wrapped her arms around the both of them.
"Don't worry, mommy. I'll hug you till it gets better" Quinn said with a wide smile and pecked her on the cheek.
"Yes, mommy. Remember you said our kisses and hugs were magical and they always made you feel less pain" Finn added.
"I remember" Emily told them with a smile. She returned the kiss by giving them one on each cheek which made them giggle.
"You are my little pair of miracle. When you are with me, everything is better." She said with tears in her eyes. The pain always disappeared whenever her babies were with her.
"Come on, let's sleep. Mommy is all better now you are here". She laid on the bed and the twins placed their heads on her chest, laying on either side of her body.
"Good night, Mommy" They whispered together.
"Goodnight babies" Emily held her babies close as the pain slowly faded away. She tore her mind away from the mate who had probably forgotten her as he had his fun and focused on the people who were present with her and mattered the most.
