Chapter Six: Wolves.

Jasper POV.

Jasper Black, alpha of the Del Luna pack at your service. I run this town, it's actually named by my own ancestors "Gorod Volkov" meaning the city of wolves in Russian.

I'm the most dominant wolf in this pack, I need them as much as they need me. When my best tracker Hannah told me her son is showing signs of shifting on his seventeen birthday I demanded she brings him here.

If he shifts alone for the first time it will kill him, he needs an alpha, someone who can dominate his wolf and make him part of the pack. Alphas on the other hand need no one, we're left on our own for the first shift. If we make it then we are worthy to run a pack if not then we were never real alphas. It run in the blood of the family, mistakes are rarely made. The alpha kids will always be alpha and so the circle goes on.

This new kid is another story, his father is human so when Hannah got pregnant and gave birth we allowed her to give the boy to his father. With the condition to send him back if he shows any sign of shifting. Most puppies do that with puberty the average being fourteen years old.

When her son didn't show any she simply ignored his existence. Hannah is the hardest, cold-hearted bitch we have in this pack but she's also a good damn tracker. We can't let her go, she doesn't live with the packhouse thankfully, she and her mate got their own house.

Now back to the kid, one of my patrol wolves confronted a stranger on pack land. Our rule is to send the tourist back toward the trails except this intruder wasn't even close to any trail, he was in the middle of pack territory.

The next report came a few minutes later saying the same intruder is going through his first shift. By the time I got there we almost lost him, his heartbeat was almost nonexistent and his breathing was shallow and slow.

I used my alpha aura, my dominance everything in me to make him obey me, not to die. The wolf side recognized his alpha and tried to revive the boy's body, he's a fragile-looking thing. He screamed, his voice full of pain the shifting is hurting him. It always hurt the first time only this kid is fighting it, it's a miracle he didn't die yet.

I tried coaching him, helping him through until he made it. When he fully shifted I was amazed and shocked, to say the least, this kid must be Hannah's son, I was supposed to meet him later tonight. But the real shock was he's a puppy, I know he's seventeen but the wolf side in him is a puppy.

An adorable puppy may I add, his eyes are mismatched one is pure green while the other was blue with hints of blue. A puppy was a rare thing, some might say it's a gift to any pack, he's special that's for sure.

He tried standing up a few times but kept falling when his eyes got rimmed with tears I couldn't help but feel my heart break a little. A puppy in a pack means every dominant wolf would want to take care of him, he's gonna be the most spoiled kid in town.

I helped him up and kept my hand around him till he found his solid ground. I changed next and took him for a run, more like a walk with his little feet. Everything amazed him and got his attention, when some of my pack decided to tag alone he hid behind me. It made the dom inside me proud, he already trusts me.

I saw the concentration on his face before a few pictures showed up in my head through our pack bond. It was of the same pack mates who just showed except in his image they looked bigger and scary looking. I understood he was afraid and sent the guys away, I saw that he was falling asleep on his feet so I picked him and walked the rest of the way home.

I left the puppy in my own bed to finish his nap, laying some clothes for him for when he wakes up. He'll probably shift back in his sleep next I called my pack in for a meeting.

Hannah was, of course, the last to come, once everyone was over I started the meeting.

"I'm proud to say we have a new packmate. Hannah your son made it" I tell her but she only shrugs not really giving a damn about her own son.

"His wolf is something rare but we're lucky to have him. The new pack member is a puppy" I say with a smile.

As expected the pack went wild talking among themselves but what stood out the most was Lydia trying to hold Hannah back.

I walked toward the commotion to hear Hannah's words.

"My son can't be a damn puppy!! There must be a mistake"

"I'm the one who helped him shift unless you are doubting my words there are no mistakes here" I growl at her.

"He can't be a puppy!! I won't have a puppy for a son" she says through gritted teeth still trying to show her dominance over me.

I didn't take her trial kindly, I looked her straight in the eyes until she looked away but my wolf was still mad, I let my power off and kept going till she fell on her knees.

"I said he's a puppy better accept it. If you do anything to hurt him you'll be dead" my voice was much deeper than usual, that was my alpha voice.

She nodded her head still looking at the ground, once I was satisfied with her submitting I let her go and turned to the rest of the pack. Before I got time to say anything else the said puppy walked in wearing the clothes I left for him.
