Chapter 10
Sebastian's POV
I stood there, unable to move, as I processed my thoughts while looking at the invitation. My father had arranged for such to take place at the palace in TWO WEEKS!
I tore the invite into shreds before tossing it onto the floor. I hated myself for dragging Emily into this— for making her cry.
If Evan were here, he would knock my lights out for his sister, again.
I walked back into the bedroom; Emily had come out from her hiding place.
"I heard," she spoke.
"Yes. He has a tendency of being very loud when he's upset," I responded.
She nodded, sadly. Her grace had gone.
"I think I'm ready to go back to my hotel tonight. I need to do some packing."
"Packing, are you leaving? Are you leaving because of this?"
"No Seb, it's really fine, honestly. Our fling is over and I think we should just both move on. Maybe you should get to know the Princess better and fulfill your duties with an open mind. You'll be happy."
"Emily, please don't do that. Don't you dare limit us for anyone else because you're scared. And what we have isn't a fling."
She walked over to me. Her beautiful hands cupped my face and drew me closer. Our foreheads rested against each other and I felt all my problems being lifted away by her actions.
"It's better if we just stop," she said quietly.
"No!" I pleaded like a child.

Emily's POV
"Hello stranger, welcome back!" Gen greeted as I walked into my hotel room.
"Hello Gen," I greeted back. I was exhausted to the point where all I wanted to do was to wake up and realize that all this was nothing but a dream.
"How's Sebastian?" she asked when I threw myself face down on the bed.
"Maybe planning for his wedding in two weeks."
"I saw the announcement on the television. How are you holding up?"
At that moment, the announcement came again. I found myself looking and listening. Sebastian was dressed in a suit of white with medals of excellence pinned to it. The princess was wearing a beautiful red dress that covered her feet. She and Sebastian held hands and smiled at the camera, their eyes met but Sebastian's were pain filled, and I knew that the wedding was, indeed, in two weeks time.
"It's like I put on this tough girl persona and he saw right through that. I called it off but he wouldn't let me. My mouth is speaking against my heart, Gen. I hate this. I loved him so much. I always carried him in my heart since high school, and now that we're seeing each other again, I won't be able to completely have him."
The tears came. There was no stopping them.
"Emily, I'm so sorry. Why don't you just tell Sebastian how you feel?"
"I tried but he has to do what he has to do. He can't go against his father."
"Well, what if we crash the wedding? Set some traps in place and let everything go downhill."
I laughed through my tears and wiped them away afterwards. "You're crazy Gen, have I ever told you that?"
There was an awkward silence from Gen as if she were thinking about something, but I didn't pay her any mind. I got off the bed to head into the bathroom when she grabbed me quickly. Turning me into her direction, her lips crashed onto mine.
I pushed her away, being caught off guard was not my cup of tea. Our eyes locked— hers with passion and mine with surprise.
"Gen, why did you just— Gen, what's the meaning of this?"
"I know how you feel about Sebastian, and I can respect that, but I'd have to be a damn fool if I didn't' tell you how I really feel about you."
"Gen, you're not a—"
"Let me finish. There's so much about me that you just don't know about. I pretend too, Emily, but I can't anymore. I love you more than just as a boss and a friend. I'm in love with you, Emily Hollen."
My eyes popped.
