You will never escape from here

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. I had committed an enormous crime. I knew that I shouldn’t have stabbed the prince, but in that process, I couldn’t stop myself. He was all over me, acting as if he cared when he saw my scars and marks. Trusting them would be a mistake, and because I couldn’t take it any longer, I stabbed him in the neck. I was going to die. I knew I was, and they would not spare me if caught. I knew that I should think about my brother in that situation, but escaping and finding him would be better than dying and leaving him in the cruel world, so I continued to run until I was outside the royal mansion. I had no idea where I was running to, but it didn’t stop me from running. There was no turning back.

If I could get away from them, I could rewrite my fate and help those who could fall victim like me. The shouts of the guards chasing after me echoed through the cold night, but I didn’t stop. I managed to run around the gigantic mega-mansion and hide behind the trees, hoping that I wouldn’t be caught, and luckily for me, the sky was void of the moon.

‘’Find her!’’ I could hear the voices echoing in the dark near me, and sooner or later, they would find me, and if they did, then I was bound to face a quick death, and all of my efforts would be for nothing.

‘’I have to escape,’’ I muttered to myself and turned to run away, but I bumped into someone. I felt a surge of electricity through my body as I collided with the person. The unusual scents of flowers that I couldn’t describe filled my nostrils, and I knew that I had collided with one of the princes or, even worse, the first prince. The scent was appealing, and I wondered which one of the princes was around me.

I could barely see anything, but I felt his hands around my waist as he pulled me into his chest. He was not the first prince because I couldn’t smell blood on him, and even though I couldn’t describe their smell, I reacted to them quite differently. With the first prince, I hated that he had touched me, but with this prince whose face I couldn’t see, I liked that he had his hands around me even though I was supposed to hate it.

‘’You are supposed to be serving my brother, but you are out here escaping,’’ he whispered into my ears and chuckled lightly. His voice sounded flat with no emotions, unlike the first prince, who had a husky voice that was hard to resist.

‘’Your Highness,’’ Someone spoke beside him in a silvery tone. I had no idea he was also around us because the prince was close to me. ‘’She had escaped, and according to what I heard from the information passed across through the mind linking, she had stabbed the crown prince in the neck!’’

Mindlinking? Unlike us, the royals were lucky to use mind-linking, who had to be close enough to the other wolf before mind-linking.

‘’You seem so different from all the rest of the girls, and I wondered why you were trying to escape when you couldn’t even get away from this place! Nolan must have gone pretty soft for you to escape him like that.’’ The prince chuckled and then let go of my waist, pushing me away from him. Then, I noticed and heard the footsteps heading toward us and the flashlight pointing in our direction.

The royal guards had found me, and it was because of this prince. If not for him, I would have run away and maybe rewritten my fate just like I wanted. ‘’Prince Ethan,’’ The royal guards bowed their heads as they reached our side.

At the mention of the prince’s name, I turned around and realized that he was the third prince. The flashlight shone on his face, and I momentarily took my time staring at him. Just like the rest of his brothers, he wore a stoic look that made me want to crawl away from him. He was supposed to be the charming and tricky one, and now, I could see why he was called the tricky prince.

How the hell was I even mated to them? This was how the moon goddess punished me because I couldn’t protect my pack, and none of the princes had even acknowledged me as their mate. It made me wonder if it was because I was a rankless wolf or if they didn’t want their pride and names tainted.

‘’Take her,’’ The prince said and turned to leave, but I moved to his front before he could and spread my hands wide, stopping him from walking further.

‘’How dare you stop the royal prince!’’His guard shouted at me and tried to push me out of the way, but the prince stopped him.

‘’what is it, little breeder?’’

‘’little breeder?’’ I scoffed. ‘’I thought that you were going to help me, but instead, you pushed me into danger!’’ I yelled at him, not scared that he was a prince. I had done much more to the extent of stabbing the first prince in the neck, so I didn't care about the outcome of shouting at one. ‘’I see how you all act all big with no remorse for your actions! Werewolves are dying because of the royal's orders and…..’’

‘’And what?’’ he moved closer to me and lowered his head to my ears. ‘’if you had just kept quiet without causing any problems, then you could have died a silent death, but you proved to be different, and now, you are going to risk the lives of those around you!’’The prince chuckled as he walked past me. ‘’what do I expect from a foolish rankless wolf?’’ he scoffed as he walked away.

I remained where I stood, thinking about what he had told me. ‘’you are going to risk the lives of those around you!’’ His words resounded as I was dragged back into the building. I was taken down a long hallway, and they stopped when we reached the front of a door made of silver. I noticed Amaya, Benjamin, and the priestess were waiting for me at the front door.

‘’how dare you!’’ Amaya's annoying, high-pitched voice sounded as she moved towards me. With a raise of her hand, my face was whipped to the other side, and she grabbed the remaining piece of my clothes and tore it in fury. I was practically naked before, but now, I was completely nude.

I used my hands to cover my breasts and private area because the guards and Benjamin were around us. Amaya didn’t care about that, but instead, she was focused on the sin that I had committed. ‘’how dare you act on your own to the extent of stabbing the crown prince in the neck!’’ she grabbed a handful of my hair and pushed me against the wall. ‘’if you had just laid down and played dead then it would be all over before you know it!’’

‘’All over?’’ I bite my lower lips enough to draw blood. Even though I was slammed against the wall naked and being watched by the perverted Guards and Benjamin, who had not spoken a word, I didn’t let it stop me from speaking my mind. ‘’if you know how to play dead, then I guess you could have acted in my stead. You could have become a breeder in my stead!’’

Amaya burst into laughter and slammed my head against the wall. ‘’you stupid wolf!’’

I couldn’t see anything for a moment and heard a bell ringing in my ears. I had thought that my skull was damaged and I was going to die, but after a few seconds, my vision became more apparent, and I could feel the warm liquid from my forehead trailing down my lips, followed by a splitting headache.

‘’Amaya!’’ The priestess shouted her name. ‘’she is the prince's breeder, and we need her in good condition, so I plead that you don’t play rough with her,’’ she warned.

‘’Don’t tell me what to do, priestess! You know how the Luna Queen is, and I could be punished for not properly taming her.’’ Amaya retorted, grabbed a handful of my hair, and turned me around to face her. ‘’how dare you!’’

‘’what the hell did I do so wrong!’’ I yelled back at her. ‘’I don’t want to be their breeder! Find someone else to do it,’’ I told her, yanking her hand from my hair. ‘’I am ready for any punishment since it is what the royals are good at,’’ I grinned at her and spat out my blood. ‘’I don’t regret stabbing the royal prince because he deserved it, and they all deserved to be killed!’’

Another slap resounded in the hallways, and this time, it was the high priestess's hand that made contact with my face.

I faced her with tears welled up in my eyes and ready to spill out, but I held it back in by biting my lower lips.

‘’stop acting like a child! This is your destiny! You can’t escape it.’’

‘’if being a useless breeder for the princes is my destiny, then I'd rather die!’’

‘’it is such a shame that those who act like they have backup are always the first to die a shameless death!’’ Benjamin finally spoke up. ‘’If you have any shame…’’

‘’shame? I don’t have any!’’

Benjamin laughed and wrapped his hands around my throat. His grip was pretty tight and enough to choke me to death, but I didn’t flinch and kept a straight face. I was never going to allow the enemy to know my weakness.

‘’seeing you acting tough like this makes me wonder if you had forgotten about your brother!’’

My eyes widened at the realization that my brother was at the royal home. I had forgotten about him and thought about only myself. The tears that I had been holding streamed down my face at the mention of my brother.

‘’my…brother. where is he?''

Benjamin let go of my neck and beckoned to the guards around us. They walked to the silver door and opened it without touching the handle. When I saw the room inside, I gasped and grabbed Benjamin’s hand.

‘’no! ‘’ I shook my head as I was dragged towards the room. The room was covered in silver, known to be lethal to werewolves. I wondered why they would go through such extremes. Dying was much better than staying in a room with silver. ‘’kill me instead,’’ I yelled as I was pushed into the room.

‘’I thought you were tough, but you are only acting as if you are,’’ Benjamin chuckled and rolled his eyes. He stood at the entrance of the room and grinned wickedly at me. ‘’I wondered what you were thinking when you stabbed the prince. Anyways,’’ he cleared his throat as he made the announcement that was going to change everything. ‘’The Alpha king has released his orders, which is to kill your brother !’’ he announced.

‘’My brother?’’ I stopped crying and moved towards the silver, but it was shut in my face. ‘’wait!’’ I screamed and hit my hand on the door, paying no attention to the pain that comes with touching the silver door. ‘’wait!’’

I heard Benjamin and Amaya laugh outside the door, and then he said, ‘’Don’t worry, you won’t die from the silver as they are not toxic, but I hope you learn your lesson once your brother dies in front of you tomorrow! I warned you about this, but you wouldn’t listen, and now, it will all be your fault!’’

‘’wait!’’ I continuously hit my hand on the door, but I got no response; instead, I heard the footsteps receding as they all walked away. ‘’wait!’’ I continued to scream while hitting the door. My palm had turned red and was extremely painful from touching the silver-forming blisters, but I didn’t care. My brother was going to die because I had been selfish and thought that a miracle would happen and I would be saved.

‘’Cody!’’ I stopped hitting the door after a while, knowing that it was useless and no one was coming for me, but I couldn’t stop thinking about Cody

Because of me, he was going to die.

''How could I not remember my brother!'' I hit the ground and let the tears stream down my face, but they were not enough for me to express how I felt, so I shouted at the top of my lungs, hoping that I could be heard and maybe a miracle would happen even though I don't believe in such.

‘’Please,’’ I cried as I clutched my chest. ‘’please,’’ I muttered and lay on the silver floor, not scared of the pain because I was used to it.
