Chapter 3

Chester

All of the students gape at me when they first saw me came out of Deathon's car. Shock are all evident on their faces and I almost laugh out loud. But I school my features and let my face remain blank. They make a way at us when we started walking through the halls, but their expression remain the same then a familiar voice called out my name. Tim and Jackie hurriedly come to us as the the others scampered away when Deathon gave them a heated glare.

"Chess! Dude where have you been??" Jackie ask as she grip my arm and led me to an empty classroom, Tim behind us.

"I'm just around. Chilling out. Nothing major." I shrugged nonchalantly. She gave me a look almost doubtful while Tim remain quiet.

"I know what happened Chess but you don't have to run away. God, you don't even told us! Its only Aiden for fucksake and I should have kno-" She didn't even finish her nonsense ranting when I growl at her menacingly. I saw her flinched but her face remain passive. I can't believe she said that, I know that she don't like Aiden for me but still as her friend I thought better of her.

"What the fuck do you know?? Huh! You do not know anything about Aiden and me, so don't give me that shit that you understand!" I yelled at her as I stand up and walk to the door. "And also I'm done with the band!"

I slam the door but not before I heard Jackie's curses and yells for me to come back. Stupid humans.

School is still boring as hell, especially now that I am repeating my first year. And it seems the news of me quitting the band were already spread among students as they talked about it among themselves.

Deathon and Kimmton were staring at me with both worried look and even the others who is from our pack. Then I saw someone walk to our table. Clad with black shirt and black skinny jeans - Leo who is the leader of my now ex-band.

"I see you heard about it." I said.

"Yeah Tim told me. Jackie is furious you know. But I guess I'm not surprise. You just become our vocalist because Aiden wanted to hear you sing, and now.." Leo said earning silence from us. Aiden is still a taboo words for us. Then he sigh loudly. "Okay Chess I'm cool with that but you need to know that we will welcome you back again if you ever change your mind." He said as he smile at me and turn around and walk away.

When he's gone the others is still looking at me intensely. Measuring my reaction and making sure that I'm alright. I gave them a small smile that broke the tense and awkward air around us.

"Thank you guys." I softly whisper, earning a smile around me.

Days passed, then months. I continue my life as a student and training my body. Resulting at my body to gain more muscle. I'm still not as buff as Matthew but I become more intimidating that gain some unwanted attention. And to think that I'm already popular before, I become more popular now. Girls flaunted themselves in front of me and even some boys. And to think that some of them called themselves straight before.

Yeah, right!!

Not to mention I started working at a local cafe just a block away from the school. I become the target of some girls and boys admiration and even college students not far from here who were a regular at the cafe.

"Uhm, Chester what time are you getting off." A brunette ask me as she shove her cleveage at my face and bat her fake eyelashes.

"I do not know, why?" I sweetly ask her, well I might not like her but she's still a costumer.

"I just wanna ask you if you want to hang out with me." She said sending me a seductive smile. I almost gagged at that.

"I can't actually, my brother want me to go straight home." I said smilingng politely at her.

"Its okay, maybe next time." She hopefully said pouting a little.

"Uh, huh." I shrugged.

God, I really missed Aiden!
