You Will Be My Luna

Nora Pov

.

"Oh my my... Look at our princess," my mom complimented me as I entered the hall where my parents were celebrating me. At midnight, I will turn eighteen and get my wolf. The biggest day of every werewolf's life.

"She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen," my dad complimented me, extending his hand towards me.

"I mean—after you," he muttered, looking at my mom, who was glaring at him. I chuckled seeing their cute and lovable chemistry. I want to have the same bond with my mate. I hold my dad's hand with a big smile on my face.

"Let's go... Everyone is waiting for us at the dining table." I nodded and looked ahead, stepping toward a new chapter of my life—though somewhere deep inside I know that something big is about to happen that's going to change my life forever.

We joined everyone at the dining table. As Dad said, everyone was waiting for us. My parents gave a wonderful speech for me that made my day even more special.

Soon, dinner was served. I was about to take my first bite when a maid passing nearby accidentally spilled a glass of juice over my dress.

"Moon Goddess!" I gasped and stood up from my chair.

"I–I'm sorry, Princess," she panicked and picked up the tissue paper to clean my dress.

"It's okay... Relax!" I said, noticing how she was shivering. My eyes went to my dad, who was gritting his teeth.

"How could you be so irresponsible?" He scowled. My mom kept a hand over his hand and shook her head. He sighed and nodded.

"It's okay, Dad." I passed him a smile then looked at the maid. "I need to clean this. Would you like to help me?" I asked, hoping to calm her, and we left the dining area to clean my dress. My eyes were fixed on the maid who was looking anxious.

"I said it was fine. Everyone makes mistakes. Why are you so anxious?" I asked while cleaning my dress.

"You shouldn't be here," she muttered, fidgeting with her fingers. I frowned and looked at her through the mirror.

"Huh?"

"You should be having dinner with those two devils." My face became pale after hearing her.

"Mind your language," I growled and turned towards her, tightening my fists.

"You shouldn't be here... I should have been careful. Now we have to plan something for you as well." I raised my eyebrow when I heard her mumbling to herself. I started recalling everyone's behavior in the dining area. Something was wrong.

"What is happening? Why are you so anxious, and why are you calling our Alpha and Luna devils?" She finally raised her head and looked into my eyes.

"It's okay... He will figure out something for you as well. You're going to die just like your parents." My eyes shot up after hearing her ominous words. I ran back to the dining area to check on my parents, only to be met with a devastating sight. My parents were coughing up blood, and the food that had been served on their plates lay shattered across the floor.

"Mom... Dad!" I yelled and was about to go near them when a person grabbed me from behind and took me to the side.

I tried to protest and yell, but a person covered my mouth with his hand. While using the other hand, he pinned my arms behind my back, not letting me go and help my parents.

"Mom... Dad," I sobbed, looking at them, trying my best to push the person away, but he was far stronger than me.

He shoved me inside the room and locked the door from outside. I didn't even get a chance to see his face.

I ran towards the window and looked outside through glass. My parents were lying on the ground, begging the people of our pack to take them to the hospital, but everyone was looking at my parents with a big smile on their face as if they all planned this, and that's when the realization hit me.

I kept my hand over my mouth, and my eyes widened in pure fear and shock. They all planned this to kill my parents. The Alpha and Luna of the pack.

I shook my head, trying not to lose my sanity. I started trying to open the window, but it was locked from outside.

"Mom... Dad!" I screamed, watching my world crumble in front of my eyes as my parents took their last breath. I shook my head at my stupid thought. I'm sure there must be a chance to save them. They are just unconscious.

I have to take them to the hospital.

I looked around frantically, searching for something to break the window and escape. That was when the door suddenly opened and someone stepped inside.

"Uncle Sebastian!" I cried and rushed towards him.

"They killed Mom and Dad. They all poisoned our food," I sobbed and hugged him like a daughter. He was always there for me like a father figure.

He hugged me back.

"It's okay... Everything is fine." I stopped crying and broke the hug.

"Wh—What do you mean?” I stuttered; the fear of losing my parents was killing me. “Did you take them to the hospital?" He smiled and wiped my tears.

"No baby... They went where they should be."

I pushed his hand away and took a step away from him.

"Huh?" I looked at him with pure rage and confusion.

"They went to hell, as they deserved it,” I gasped and shook my head, looking at him in disbelief.

"No... That's not possible... No..." I pushed him away and rushed outside to check on my parents.

"Mom," I knelt beside her and checked her pulse, then checked my dad’s.

"Mom... Dad," I whispered, looking at their lifeless bodies and feeling devastated and broken.

Uncle was right; they are no more. They left me alone in this harsh world.

"Ahhhh," A painful scream tore through my throat. I shook their bodies, trying to rouse them.

Just this morning, my mother had smiled at me. My father promised he would be there to see me growing into a beautiful Alpha.

"No... No... No. You can't leave me. Please wake up," I sobbed, pleading with them. A hollow ache spread through my chest so sharply I struggled to breathe when they didn't respond.

They couldn't.

My trembling fingers tangled into my hair as I clawed at it, shaking uncontrollably while screaming until my throat burned raw.

“They are dead.”

The whisper reached my ears like poison. I raised my head and looked at the people around me. They had a sinister smile on their face.

I clenched my fist and stood up, realizing it was all of them. They planned this.

"You all killed my parents," I growled, looking around. I wish I had a wolf right now.

I wish I could rip off their head.

My eyes fell on the maid who had spilled water on me, shivering and standing at the corner.

“You!”

I lunged toward her, ready to slap her, but two warriors suddenly grabbed me from behind before I could reach her.

I screamed again, thrashing violently in their hold, kicking and struggling to break free and kill the traitor who had destroyed my world.

“Leave me!” I shouted hysterically, but they didn’t even flinch.

They forced me down onto my knees. One of them pressed a harsh hand against my head, forcing me to bow.

“You’re not a spoiled princess anymore… stop acting like one,” the warrior snarled before slapping me hard across the cheek.

I crashed face-first onto the ground.

Tears of humiliation rolled down my cheeks, but they were nothing compared to the unbearable pain of losing my parents.

A person walked inside the hall, and everything went still. The warriors left me, but I didn't move.

I saw two shining shoes stop right in front of me. I raised my head, and tears rolled from my eyes when I saw my uncle.

"It's okay, baby." Uncle kept his hand over my head. “It was their destiny. I know it’s painful, but they had to die.” He said with a smile as if his brother and sister-in-law hadn't just died.

My gaze shifted back to my parents… then to the food they had eaten.

My hands slowly fell limp beside me. The rage, the screams, the pain—everything suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a frightening numbness.

"They were poisoned," I whispered and turned my head to look back at my uncle, who shrugged his shoulders.

"I know.” I frowned, unable to get why he was indifferent to the situation, and then he revealed the reason.

“I was the one who gave them poison. " He smirked, snatching the ground beneath my feet.

I stood up and held his collar, burning in pure rage, feeling like my veins would burst in anger.

"What do you mean you killed him?" I shouted. My father always treated him like his son, and this is how he returned the favor?

He grabbed my wrist, forced my hand away from his collar, and spun me around effortlessly.

"Ahh," I whimpered as he used his wolf power to hold me in place.

"I wanted the throne, and he was coming in my way; that's why I killed him. Moreover, your father was not a saint. So stop fighting with me." He scoffed and kissed my cheek. I turned my face away in disgust.

Tears were blurring my vision. What could be worse than watching your parents die?

At least that's what I thought, but his next words broke my delusion.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you nor will you lose your pack or power." I frowned and looked at him. He turned me towards him. "I will mark you and you will be my Luna," he announced, and everyone howled in happiness—celebrating my misery.
