CHAPTER 2
MONTANA'S POV
I could not believe how I easily let myself be manipulated by Lola. The smirk on her face when she walked closer to me and embraced me in a hug, one that was for her to pass a message to me.
She had taken advantage of my trust and that stung more than I expected cause I felt so stupid and silly. She saw me as someone who is naive enough to fall for her schemes and here I am, proving her right on how foolish I could be.
"You know for someone like yourself, it was so easy", Lola giggled in my ear still hugging me tightly before she finally pulled away.
Luke had gone to great some people who came for the wedding so it was Lola and I.
"Do you want to hear the story of how I ruined my older sister's dream?", she asked me but I just could not form any words.
"That's okay, I will tell you anyway", Lola smiled as she started telling me the story of everything she did. I could already feel my heart racing as memories of that night came back, remembering the suspicious guy she was talking about who was not so suspicious that night.
Lola said, "I had paid him to you know, play a little with your drink, do it quietly and quickly. Guess what sis? He did a wonderful job, I can not believe till now that I am telling you this you were not able to figure it out", Lola mocked me, laughing at how broken I was looking.
When she described the guy, I remembered him vividly.
No wonder his face seemed slightly covered, I remember some part of his face but not all and he was sweet and nice, offering to buy me a drink and drink with me.
"Oh did you think he wanted to mingle with you?", she made one face and bit her lips, "on the other hand, Luke is a very delicious Alpha, I must say. But I'm sure you know that sis."
The joy in Lola's voice. My breathing was becoming hard and choked.
"There, there, relax", Lola said pulling me into a pretentious hug again.
Flashbacks came rushing in, my head ached but I could remember now, I remembered everything.
“And that was it, sis, I did this out of love...so easy, and turning everyone, including Luke against you was not even as hard as I thought. Turned out you meant nothing to him, not even worth a fight or an argument." Lola finished up her whole, should I say, confession to me.
I pushed her off me as soon as she was done and I could see the way she kept smiling and could notice how it felt like she was romanticizing about the game she had played. I agree I must have been stupid to want to trust that wrench.
"Fuck you Lola", My breath hitched as I turned around and walked out, all eyes were on me. The embarrassment I felt was wild cause it was already news to everyone that we were together but the wedding was a secret so everything was not so complicated, "But how did he do this to me? It's me? Montana, the one he loves or loved. I don't know anymore".
I tried holding back my tears but some of the gazes fixed on me were that of pity or sadness, some happy, some giving mixed feelings and I just, I just...
The tears finally rolled down from my eyes, as I sniffed, running away from the place.
"Look at her run off like some saint who has never done anything wrong and is so innocent", Lola scoffed and said for Luke to hear her.
"Should have listened to my parents unless I would have made such a horrible mistake getting mated and married to a whore", Luke agreed and Lola rubbed his chest while his hands were wrapped around her waist and her head on his shoulder, "Thanks for saving me darling, come... it's our wedding day and we should make it memorable", Luke suggested as of course Lola happily agreed.
I ran back home and busted the door open, running inside with no brake whatsoever until I was stopped by the couples in front of me, My father and stepmother Grace. They seemed to have been fully dressed and were heading for the occasion, "what is happening Dad?", I asked feeling very confused and tired.
"What is happening is that you should have kept your legs shut instead of going around like a whore", He threw some pictures at me out of anger, "What a disgrace you have been to this family and will always be and I can not keep letting you bring this family down", My father yelled at me and walked out while I bent to the floor, picking up the pictures and staring at them, my mouth agape.
"H-how-", I stuttered, "T-these pics- I don't understand".
"How would you understand?", Grace walked up to me, purposely stepping on my fingers that were on the floor.
I groaned from the pain, "If you attempt to remove that hand of yours, whatever next you get will be far much worse. You deserve every pain and hate that you are getting sweetheart cause you are simply a mistake that was never supposed to happen".
I winced as more tears pulled from my eyes.
"Grace? Darling?!", I heard my father call out for her as she smiled and looked towards his direction, "Coming honey, just needed to bless this girl with some knowledge".
Grace finally removed her heels and my hand could finally breathe again, "You are just like your mother".
"I thought I raised you better but you choose to follow your mother's footsteps. You are indeed a mistake", I heard my father's voice say as his footsteps got closer. He took my stepmother's hand and left with her and that was the last thing he said to me as they left me all alone.
I was already having an attack, my insides, and my chest were on fire, and I couldn't breathe. I rushed to check the pictures more clearly and that's when it dawned on me.
This person looked nothing like Luke, "A stranger", I whispered, my whole form already weak and disoriented.
The last I could see was black as I fainted. Welcoming the darkness.
