Chapter 1

... Five years later...

I woke with a start as my alarm went off. I struggled getting up as my body ached all over after receiving yet another whipping from my brothers. Its hard to think that they hate me so much and would treat me like a worthless slave.

I went to my small bathroom which had a toilet, shower and a basin that doesn't work. In actual fact its a half a basin as my face was smashed into it as a reminder to be obedient and there's no mirror because I don't have the privilege to own one. I finished up in record time as I know how my brothers hate me being late and I really wasn't in the mood for another beating. I think my only saving grace is the fact that I have a wolf which helps me heal faster. Still hurts though.

In the kitchen I quickly whipped up fruit, pancakes, bacon, sausages and scramble eggs. I poured juice into a jug and plated the food and turned to take the food to the dining room and almost bumped into Daniel my Beta brother.

I placed the food down quickly and looked at the floor as I await the harsh words or slap to follow.

"I'm sorry" I started to say bit Daniel slapped me before I could finish.

"I didn't ask you to speak so keep your bloody mouth shut!" he said

"Also why is the food not on the table awaiting us? Do you want us to starve?"

"No, Beta I'm sorry." I say. I knew saying more or objecting won't do good so why do it at all?

I took the plates to the dining room and placed it Infront of them all as they entered into the dining room. I went back quickly for the rest of the plates, juice and coffee.

"About time you useless excuse of a wolf," said Sam. I sometimes think he feels bad for the way he treats me because he would look away or not make eye contact but other times, I feels like he enjoys it.

"I'm sorry Alpha" I said

While looking down to his plate he says, oh and happy birthday.

I turned with tears in my eyes and returned to the kitchen to start cleaning up. After everything was clean, I cleared the table in the dining room and cleaned the dishes. I took my plate of scraps, as that is all I'm allowed to have to my room. I sat down on my bed and ate my breakfast as tears starts rolling down my face.

Today is my 18th birthday.

I constantly daydream about how amazing it would be to finally meet my mate and how he would shield and protect me from all this endless pain and torture. How wonderful it would be to be free of my brothers and this hell hole and I pray to the Goddess that my mate is strong, kind, honest and loving.

Lately I started having dreams about my future mate or at least I think it's him. He always tells me to be strong and that he Wil find me. He is so handsome, and his powerful aura takes my breath away. He has dark hair that looks as smooth and soft like silk, beautiful emerald green eyes that match mine but a tad greener. What gets me every time is he's gorgeous kissable lips that could make me forget all my pains and sorrows. Lastly, he's scent... Yes, I know it sounds unbelievable, but I know my mate scent. My wolf is extraordinary. Although I feel so weak and pathetic at times and wish I knew why I was blessed with all of this just to suffer and most probably die young.

"RUUUUBY!" The Alpha hollered down the stairs snapping me from my sorrows and daydreams

"GET UP HERE NOW!"

I ran upstairs as fast as I could. I stopped in front of him and looked at the floor as I said "Yes Alpha"

"I just got a message from the King; He Wil be paying us a visit tonight as he is in the area, and he is accompanied by he's Beta. They Wil be joining us for dinner."

"Clean this place up now! I WANT THIS PLACE SPOTLESS, YOU HEAR ME!" he roars in his alpha voice

"Y-yes Alpha" I replied, I don't know why he keeps using his alpha voice when he knows ill do whatever he askes

"Make sure you provide us with the best meal possible or your hide will bleed!"

"Yes Alpha" I cringe at the thought of that as i haven't been punished that bad often. I'm usually just black and blue.

I rushed to my room and fetched my plate and finished eating on my way to the kitchen. I cleaned my dish and started on the house. I cleaned and dusted everything. Every nook and cranny spotless. I rushed to start preparing dinner. I started grabbing all the ingredients and equipment I thought I might need.

I decided that steak was a good option, so I started preparing steak, baby potatoes with butter rosemary and garlic, green beans wrapped in bacon and roasted butternut. For dessert I made a fresh apple pie with cream and custard... I sped down to my room and took a well-deserved shower and quickly braided my hair as I know the Alpha will flip out if I look and smell filthy. Getting back to the kitchen, getting the plates ready and making sure the wine jugs are full, i feel content and satisfied. Just hope the Alpha does too.

As I was doing the finishing touches on the meal, I heard Alpha welcome the King.

"Welcome to the Redstone pack your majesty. It's an honor to have you join us this evening." I could hear the fear in his voice and softly giggle as its strange to hear fear in his voice.

"Thank you, Alpha, it's good to be here."

... That voice, wow... Sounds so familiar though...

Let's get our seats I'm sure dinner will be served soon, Alpha says

I picked up the plates as the men started conversations. As I was on my way to the dining room, I had the most delectable scent filing my nostrils and so familiar but for the life of me I couldn't place it.

As I entered the dining room my wolf awoke from her years old slumber, due to the pain and torture and SCREAMED- "MATE". I looked up and my eyes met with those wonderful emerald eyes from my dream. I was so shocked and so relieved at the same time that I dropped the plates I was carrying, and they shattered on the floor. For once I did not care as I moved forward, I said -" Mate!" Finally!

The king stood up and moved towards me and said - "Mate!"

Before I reach him though my brother yanked me back by my throat. - "What the hell is wrong with you? he started to say

" LET GO OF MY MATE ALPHA OR I SWEAR TO THE GODDESS I WIL RIP YOU LIMB FROM LIMB! " The king hollers

The shock on my brother's face was absolutely ridiculous and priceless. He dropped he's hand from my neck so fast that someone would think I burned him. I turned and walked to the King, and he embraced me and smelled my scent at the base of my neck where his mark will go, he whispered. -" I told you that I will find you. "

I was so happy that I started to cry and clutch onto him for dear life. Finally, my mate has come.... Finally, I am saved from this hell hole.... Finally, my brothers can never touch me again.
