Three

ANDREA

“Fellas,” I say, walking into the club, surprising my brother, Matteo. I didn’t think I was going to make it, but when my big meeting was canceled and rescheduled to two weeks later, my calendar opened. And who the hell is going to say no to sun, surf, and sex.

“Bro, what are you doing here?” Matteo asks, looking rather surprised as he claps me on the back in a bro hug.

“I needed to check in on my investment,” I tease him.

Matteo raises an unimpressed brow in my direction. “Silent partner, remember?” he adds.

Of course, I’m a silent partner in my brother’s venture. There is no way in hell I would give up the opportunity to own part of a sex resort, especially not one as high class as this one. I used my own money to invest and made sure that there was no way of tracing it back to our family’s businesses. There are a lot of prudes in the world and real estate investment is full of them.

Mom and Dad are extremely proud of Matteo forging his own path with The Eden Club and becoming successful in his own right. They worry about what some people might think if they know Matteo is their son. And that fact sucks because they shouldn’t have to hide his business from the world, but the circles they run in are ultra-conservative. Matteo understands, and he’s okay with my parents’ concerns. My brother has always been a lone wolf and that’s worked in my favor, as I’ve taken over the heir-apparent title from my parents, which was always destined for Matteo. Something he was never interested in. Why would he when he’s created his own fantasy island?

“Hey, you remember Sylvia from Dirty Texas, don’t you?” Matteo reintroduces us.

“Yeah, man ... long time no see,” I say, shaking his hand.

“Yeah, good to see you again. I’ll tell you something, this resort is pretty amazing,” Andrei says, giving my brother some high praise.

“I just flew in, so I haven’t seen much.” I can’t wait to get out there and explore everything that’s on offer. I’m not as freaky as my brother, but since my membership to the club, I have started to explore, pushing my boundaries a little more. “But I’m pretty sure my night has just gotten better,” I say, staring at three of the most beautiful women who have entered the room. Andrei and Matteo follow in the direction I’m looking, but suddenly tension falls across us.

Andrei’s face looks like thunder. “They’re nothing but trouble,” he grumbles out.

“Ignore him. He has history with one of them,” Matteo tells me.

They know these women?

Have they already hung out with them since arriving?

“Hopefully, not the one in the pink dress?” I state because she’s mine.

Matteo looks over to see who I’m talking about. “Nope, lady in red,” he answers for Andrei, who’s still scowling at the group of women.

“Good choice.” I chuckle, which earns me a glare from the rock star. My brother shakes his head at my comment.

“Your brother has a thing for his new event planner ... the one in the white,” Andrei says, putting my brother right in it. Is this the girl he was talking to me about in London? Damn she’s hot. I let out a whistle in appreciation which earns me a glare from my brother. Now I understand his dilemma in London.

“What about your motto? Never mix business and pleasure. Only make business out of pleasure?” I tease Matteo with his iron-clad motto he loves stating pompously to me.

“Yeah, well, that one is biting me firmly in the ass now. When we first met, she had a boyfriend, and now ... now she’s single and trying to get over the douchebag who fucked her over. It’s hard because she’s curious about everything.”

My brother’s kryptonite, curiosity.

“Stay strong, brother, stay strong,” I say, slapping him on the back.

“I’m practically a fucking saint.” He groans. I call bullshit, but I’ll let him live in his world of denial.

“Why don’t we join them?” I say which earns me more stony glares.

Fuck them! I want to meet this woman in pink. The way her eyes are wide with excitement as she watches the show in the cube. Her cheeks are flushed pink with equal parts desire and embarrassment. I like it.

“Guys, come on ... I want to meet the beauty in pink.”

My brother turns to Andrei who grumbles something in rock star and sighs before holding out his hand in a lead-the-way gesture.

“Evening, ladies,” I say, greeting the three beauties, laying on my British accent that women love.

“And who are you?” the woman in white asks looking me over before noticing Matteo standing behind me.

“My brother,” Matteo answers. There’s a warning tone to his voice, and I’m not sure if it’s directed at her or me.

“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Matteo’s brother,” she says with a wide smile.

“It’s ANDREA. My name is ANDREA,” I introduce myself properly as these two idiots seem to have forgotten their manners. My eyes fall on the woman in pink, those green eyes meeting mine as a small smile crosses her lips. Before I have a chance to introduce myself further, my brother interrupts me.

“If you will excuse us, I might show Agape around. I haven’t had a chance to give her much of a tour yet,” he explains to the group. Agape looks up at my brother with heated eyes and follows him. Oh yeah, he is so not following his rules with her, and by that look she’s giving him, they have well and truly crossed any lines that were drawn in the sand.

“So, ladies, are you both single?” I ask, trying to break the awkwardness.

“Yes, we are,” the woman in red answers me.

Andrei’s face looks like thunder at her answer.

What the hell is going on between these two.

“Really? I’m pretty sure your fiancé back in England might say something different, don’t you?” Andrei growls out the words to the woman in red. Oh shit.

The woman in pink grimaces at Andrei’s comment.

“Fiancé?” I mouth to the woman in pink. She nods and adds in an eye roll for special effect.

“I’m pretty sure he is screwing every single woman in London as we speak, so I don’t think he has grounds to stand on to be upset,” she yells back at Andrei.

I look over at the girl in pink, and she gives me a subtle head nod. This is crazy, no wonder Andrei looked like thunder when he saw the woman in red.

“Yet, you still continue with this farce of an engagement. I don’t know if I should admire your loyalty or your stupidity for the cause,” Andrei spits back.

This is like a tennis match as my head turns back and forth between the two of them as they go all out serve for serve.

“I was pretty stupid to think that you were any different than all the other men I have been with. In the end, you’re all the same, you think with your dicks,” she yells back at Andrei.

Right, this is getting a tad uncomfortable.

“Maybe we should leave them alone for a moment,” I say to the girl in pink.

“Yeah, I think so,” she replies, moving over to where I’m standing.

“Of course, I was thinking with my dick. It was hypnotized by your magic pussy,” we hear Andrei say before we even have a chance to turn around. Then we watch in slow motion as the woman in red’s hand comes out and connects with the side of Andrei’s cheek.

Slap.

The sound echoes between the four of us, and it lets me know that it was a hard slap.

“Shit,” the woman in pink curses beside me.

“Is that why you’re here tonight, to mesmerize some poor guy with your damsel-in-distress routine?” Andrei continues arguing with the woman.

“Screw you, Andrei,” she spits back at him. The woman in pink takes a step forward to comfort her friend.

“You wish, darlin’, you damn well wish,” Andrei argues back.

“You think that I can’t get anyone else?”

“Oh, darlin’, I know no one else out there is going to be able to compete with me. I’m the best you’ve ever had. I remember the way you screamed my name as I fucked you like no one has before.”

Well, damn.

The woman in pink beside me gasps at Andrei’s words.

Man, you are ruining my night for me.

“Okay, I can see this situation is going south real quick, but I need to know what your name is?” I turn and ask her.

“EVALINE, I’m Agape’s sister,” she replies quickly.

I like that name … EVALINE.

“Fuck you! I’ll show you, Sylvia . You aren’t as special as you think you are.” The woman in red then cusses at the rock star as she turns on her heel and disappears into the crowd.

“That’s Lavender. She’s my best friend and not normally this crazy,” EVALINE adds. “I should go and, you know …” she says, but Andrei is moving much faster and following her friend.

“Seems like they have some issues to sort out for themselves,” I add.

“You could say that,” she says with a sigh. “Do you think I should …” she asks me.

“I’ve known Andrei for a while now, and I’ve never seen him so animated like that with a woman before … actually with anyone. He’s that quiet, mysterious broody guy at the party who keeps to himself. Which, of course, all the girls want,” I explain to her.

“I’ve never seen Liv so fired up either,” she muses.

“Looks like they have a lot of pent-up anger toward each other.”

“You could say that again.” EVALINE chuckles.

“Hey, do you want to get out of here and go get a drink?” I ask.

She gives a look through the crowd of horny bystanders watching what’s happening in the cube and nods. “She’s going to be okay with him, isn’t she?” she asks me.

“The security here is tight. If they see a situation that isn’t right, they will step in quickly. Honestly, she’s in the safest of places.” EVALINE doesn’t seem as convinced, judging by the frown that’s formed on her face. “We can stay if you want?” I don’t want her to feel bad about abandoning her friend, which I don’t think she is doing at all. Those two need space to work out whatever drama is going on between them.

“No, no, I’m fine. She needs to sort her shit out with Andrei once and for all before she gets married,” EVALINE mumbles.

So, Lavender is engaged?

Okay, I have a million and one questions that I’m going to have to ask when we get to the bar. I place my hand on the small of EVALINE’s back and usher her through the crowd on the cube level. We then head back downstairs to the bar area, and we are now away from where the fun is had on those upper levels. I don’t think EVALINE is into getting it on after witnessing all that, plus I have a feeling this is normally not her scene, and her sister has asked her to come help check it out like my brother did with me.

Once we are downstairs, I head to the outside seating area. We’re on a tropical island, so we might as well enjoy the gorgeous breeze and take a seat underneath a pavilion.

“This is cute,” EVALINE muses as she drops onto a seat beside me on the long bench-style setting. “Hope they wash the cushions regularly.” She chuckles to herself before stopping. Those bright green eyes widen as she looks over at me. “Oh no, I’m so sorry ... I wasn’t saying anything bad about your brother’s place. It was a random thought that popped into my head.” She looks adorably embarrassed that she might have offended me with her comment.

“Seeing as clothing is optional in some places, I hope they clean them, too,” I tell her, giving her a genuine smile.

She seems to relax a little after my joke.

“Good evening, can I get you two a drink?” the waitress asks.

“I’ll grab an old fashioned, and what would you like?” I turn and ask EVALINE.

“Amalia, thanks.”

I wait for the waitress to disappear before I start talking again. “Okay, I need to know what the hell is going on between your friend and Andrei.”

EVALINE smiles. “It’s a complicated story.”

“You don’t have to share. I was just being nosey,” I tell her honestly.

EVALINE looks up at me, and the tiniest of frowns forms on her face. Oh no, did I say something to offend her?

“Didn’t pick you for a guy interested in gossip,” she teases.

“Not normally, but when I get dinner and show, I’m intrigued,” I tell her.

EVALINE goes on to tell me all about what happened between Lavender and Andrei from Monaco to now and everything in between.

“That’s a lot. Now I understand the hostility between the two of them.”

“It’s crazy, but I don’t understand why Andrei’s so angry tonight. It’s as if he thinks she’s wronged him somehow. I mean, he’s the one who slept with her sister,” she muses while finishing off her second drink.

EVALINE has a point there. Andrei did react as if she was the one who cheated on him.

“Who knows, he’s a rock star,” I tell her. EVALINE nods, mulling over what I have said. “Anyway, enough about them … tell me about you.”

“You want to know about me?” she asks as if it’s a rare question.

“Yes, who is EVALINE?” Damn! I’m not sure of her surname, so I can’t continue with my question.

“Alessandro, my name is EVALINE Alessandro. Am I supposed to use my real name here? Shit. Did I just break a rule?” Those green eyes widen with panic. Those two Amalias have certainly gone to her head, and it’s cute.

“No, no, you haven’t broken any rules. You can be as open and honest as you want,” I tell her with a chuckle.

“You’re probably used to all this,” she says, waving her hand in the air as her third drink arrives.

“What? Having drinks with a beautiful woman?”

EVALINE stills, and her green eyes narrow on me. “You’re a player, aren’t you? I mean your brother owns sex clubs, so, of course, you are.” She sighs, taking a sip of her drink.

I’m not sure why her assessment of me being a player stings, but for some reason, it does.

“Believe me, I’m no player. I leave all that to my brother,” I reply honestly.

“Who is going to screw over my sister. She’s vulnerable at the moment, you know,” EVALINE states, pointing her finger at me.

“Matteo’s spoken about your sister before. He seems smitten which is an unusual word to associate with my brother with.” EVALINE’s brow arches. “Look, my brother is a good guy. Yes, he owns a sex resort and clubs, but he rarely mixes the two. This is business for him, and he lives and breathes business. This club may be in an unconventional field, but it’s no different from owning normal hotels or clubs,” I say, defending my brother.

“Did you know my sister had to organize her boyfriend’s engagement party?” EVALINE explains. Did she say that right? Maybe she’s confused. “I can read your face, ANDREA. And yes, I am tipsy, but no, you heard me right. Her boyfriend of six months told her he was on some business trip or something, but really he’d gone home to get engaged to some girl his parents wanted him to marry.” My brother forgot to mention that part of the story. “So, I’m worried that your brother might take advantage of her during—”

“Matteo would never do that,” I interrupt her with my honesty.

“Cam says the same thing, but I’m her sister … it’s my job to worry about her.”

“I understand. She’s family.”

“I’m sorry, this has been a weird night. Look, Matteo seems great …” She stills then bursts out laughing. “That rhymed,” she says, shaking her head. “You’ve been so lovely, and here I am questioning your brother’s integrity. It’s rude and that’s not me, so I apologize,” she says, looking over at me. She’s being serious. I can read on her face that she feels bad. The thing is, I wasn’t offended at all. If I’m honest, I have my own doubts about her sister, but after hearing about what she’s been through, I think Matteo and her should sort it out between themselves.

“You have nothing to apologize for,” I tell her as I reach out and place a hand on her leg.

“You’re too kind. I think I’m a little overwhelmed by everything, so I’m worrying if I’m putting my foot in it,” she explains to me. This woman is like none I’ve met before. She is equal parts shy and confident. I’m intrigued.

“I’m assuming you’ve never been to a sex club before?”

“I haven’t had sex in two years, let alone gone to a sex club.” As soon as the words are out of her mouth, she quickly covers her mouth with her hands in shock that she just divulged that much personal information about herself.

Two years, and she hasn’t gotten laid.

“I can’t believe I said that. I promise I’m not a nutter,” she adds. “I mean, it was two years ago until earlier today.”

Wait! What did she say? She got laid today? Breaking her drought.

“I don’t know what is in these Amalias, but they are strong, and I seem to be spilling all my secrets. You know what, maybe it’s best I should leave you to it. You seem like a great guy, ANDREA. You’re handsome, kind and patient … there’s probably a million other girls inside who are more deserving of your attention than me,” she says quickly as she stands. She wobbles a little on her feet and then mumbles to herself, “Seems like I’m a lightweight too.” She pauses for a few seconds, then says, “It was a pleasure meeting you, ANDREA. I’m sure I’ll see you around. Enjoy your night.” And with those few words, she stumbles away.
