prologue
'CORBIN YOU BRAT I SWEAR YOU'RE DEAD,'
and a few moments later young Corbin's screeching was heard throughout the house.
Dante who was busy reading the newspaper rolled his eyes when he heard his sons cries for help,
'serves him right,' he muttered to himself, unlucky for him his mate heard him and swatted him across the head,
'behave,' Venus muttered and went out of the library to save her poor son who probably had hell to pay at the hands of his sister,
'I SWEAR I DIDN'T MEAN TO BREAK IT,' Corbin screeched, trying to tug his shirt out of his sisters hold,
'break ??? BREAK ??? YOU SPLIT THE LAPTOP INTO TWO YOU MORON!,'
' I THOUGHT IT WAS A FOLDING LAPTOP THAT I COULD ROTATE IT ANYWAY I WANT,' he cried out,
'I'm gonna wring your ne-'
'what is going on here?' Venus asked, watching Corbin dangling mid air as his sister held him up from the neck of his shirt,
'mommy help me,' he cried out,
'Athena ...' Venus drawled out, giving a pointed look to her daughter to put down her brother, Corbin whimpered and Athena growled at him, this was the 3rd time in two months he had broken her laptop, her parents refused to get him one of his own as they said he was too young to have his own gadgets, he'd get one when he turned 13, he was only 11 now.
Venus knew this was her youngest sons lame attempts to keep on breaking Athenas laptops so they'd get frustrated and get him one of his own, the stubborn child was either too stupid to not understand by now that all his attempts were failing, or he had a death wish to be messing around with Athenas things.
After 10 minutes of constant cajoling Corbin ran out of his sisters room like his derrière had caught fire and a fuming Athena went to the library to talk to her father, upon reaching she saw her twin already sitting with their father most definitely discussing pack business,
Abel who was only born 3 minutes before her had agreed to take on most of the pack duties with his father, Athena also worked with them but she was busy with university as she would soon graduate, Abel was a smart-ass and had graduated uni earlier than she had, naturally he was free mostly so he had decided to work more.
They weren't identical twins, while Abel was the exact replica of their father, with sharp chiselled features, tan skin and muscular build of 6'2, people would've mistook him for the alpha himself had it not been for his bright hazel eyes, plus their father was just an inch taller than him,
Athena on the other hand had her fathers hetero-chromia trait, her right eye was blue and her left was green, a small button nose, full pink lips, high cheekbones, her hair was also dark in likeness to her fathers and she had delicate winged brows,
her voluptuous frame of 5'6 thanks to her mother made her stand out amongst werewolves who were taller and more leaner, even though she was a lycan her built was a bit more towards the soft and short side, but that didn't water down her impressive strength and agility, she was confident and outgoing while her brother was the exact opposite in nature, he was reserved.
Personality wise she was exactly like her mother and Abel was like their father, growing up she had to deal with a lot of rules that started with no boys and ended with no boys, it was like yesterday when on her 17th birthday a boy in their pack tried to kiss her when her father caught her and gave her a lovely reprimand in his office while her mother tried to calm down a raging alpha who issued every threat to the poor boy who tried to kiss her,
and suspiciously she never saw the boy again that night, or even more suspiciously ever again, Venus was pretty sure her husband had scared the poor boy off to the depths of hell.
'what excuse did he give this time?' Abel asked smirking,
'that he was trying to "rotate" the laptop,' Athena air quoted, rolling her eyes in annoyance,
'your mother tried saving him again?' Dante asked, knowing their youngest son was spoiled rotten by his mate, the boy needed some sense knocked into him at least once so he'd stop this madness of his.
'obviously,' Athena muttered,
Right after Abel brought up some pack matters that they all got busy discussing.
somewhere in another world
'your highness the day court wanted you to issue an urgent meeting with alpha Dante,' the royal advisor said, cringing as he knew the royals at the day court had problems with the alpha in the past, them meeting would be nothing short of gruesome,
'and why is it that the day court think so high of themselves but have no connections because everyone hates them,'
'I- uh your highness they just lack a bit of .... cooperation i believe,' the advisor said awkwardly,
the being at the other end of the room hummed, after a few moments of contemplation he got up and rose to his full length, craning his neck to the side he looked at the time and then back to his advisor,
'i believe its not that late on earth, what say Nathenial we go now?'
'of course your highness right away,'
'should i change or am i alright for the occasion?' he asked, his deep voice reverberating through the enormous majestic throne room,
Gulping Nathenial raised his eyes up to his masters, dark eyes looked back at him, cold and reserved, when people would say Azarious was perfect ruling the night court, they were correct, standing at a tall build of 6'3 with broad shoulders and thick arms, the type of build that oozed masculinity and strength, his muscular frame was hugged to perfection by his custom made suit that made him look devilishly handsome,
Raising his thick dark brow at his advisor in question, brows that were in exact likeness to the colour of his hair that ended right above his nape, the styling of his hair giving him a manly yet boyish look, well it was no lie he stopped ageing at 27, his features were sharp and hard, his jaw was square and chiseled, with a light stubble on it, his cheekbones were high and wide, his nose straight, his lips firm and full, and his skin tan.
thick dark lashes framed his eyes, and his eyes were the perfect definition of onyx, they were as dark as the starless night, so dark you couldn't distinguish the pupil from the iris, eyes as dark as a stormy night that promised retribution and chaos,
orbs that were swirling pits of nothing, they let no emotion pass or show through them and thats what made people weary and cautious of him, people fear what they don't understand, and Azarious was a hard man to read and understand, he was clipped in his answers and cold in his reserve, he mostly always kept to himself, despite this people praised his ruling, nothing got past him ever and his reign was one people knew they'd be talking about for millennials to come.
'you look perfect for the occasion your highness,' Nathenial said, mentally scolding himself for sounding as nervous as he was.
'adequate, now lets go,'
