The next day I wake up and look at my watch, it's half past six. It's okay, I get used to jet lag quite quickly. I decide to go have my breakfast but before I take a shower, get dressed and go down to eat.
I have several hours ahead of me because the first Meeting doesn't start until nine o'clock, which gives me plenty of time to prepare. So I'm in no rush...
Arrived downstairs, the server shows me a table and I sit there without delay. The variety of dishes they offer is impressive but I make my choice quickly. Classic. So I order scrambled eggs and bacon.
My breakfast is happening in peace and when I'm done, I go back to my room and call Elsa, I tell her about my first day and we stay on the phone for a good hour.
Then I decide to hang up because now I have to go. At the first session of the Grande Réunion. I'm stressing. For no obvious reason.
I arrive in front of the building at half past eight, which I consider quite early. To my surprise, there is already quite a crowd in front. I remain motionless for a long time, impressed by the number of people present. Then I take a step forward before making my way through this world.
After several minutes of fierce struggle, I finally find myself in front of the entrance where the Omegas are waiting. I start queuing and finally go inside the place after a fairly thorough check. As I had thought, the amphitheater (that's the best definition of the place) is huge. In my opinion, it can accommodate thousands and thousands of people.
As the seats are assigned, I row a little to find my seat and by the time I fall on it, the amphitheater has already filled up.
Strangely, I'm not suffocating, the ventilation system must surely be ultra sophisticated. Half an hour passes and now no one can come in. The doors are closed. From the outside, of course.
I return my attention to the center of the assembly. The Country Alphas sit in a semi-circle around the Continent Alphas who face the audience as well as the Country Alphas.
The Alphas of the Continents are four in number. No wolf lives in Antarctica, this continent has no Alpha. Oceania, on the other hand, is considered part of Asia. The Alpha of Asia is therefore also that of Oceania.
Below each Alpha is the name of the country or continent they rule. The Alpha from Africa decides to speak first, his voice echoing through the microphone in front of him:
-"Hello to all, wolves and wolves. We are gathered here for the twenty-second Great Meeting. For most of you, Omegas, this is your first time attending the Great Meeting. So I wish that this one remains in your memories as a good memory. My colleagues and I are well aware that most of you come from afar. We know how complicated it is to leave everything behind. But this must be part of your life as a werewolf. We then took the decision to make this meeting mandatory. If you don't mind, we'll get started."
The Africa Alpha then turns to the Country Alphas and asks them, or rather orders them, according to the tone of his voice, without appeal:
- "Each turn, you will summarize in a brief sentence the situation of your country, if it is bad we will talk about it. We will also display on the big screen the places concerned as well as a short summary of the background of the events we will talk about . For those who are distant, I ask you, Alphas of the Countries, to stand each time you speak."
Slowly, the Grande Réunion begins and I look for the Alpha of our country, France, then that of our continent, Europe. I focus on the latter. From a distance, I can hardly make out his furrowed brows and his forehead furrowed in concentration.
The dean of the Alphas is surely the one from Africa and the youngest surely the one I'm staring at. The Alpha of Europe.
The man tilts his head in the direction I'm sitting and I feel his gaze scan the rows. I'm so far away that I wonder how he felt my gaze, if that's what he's looking for. Our pupils do not even have the opportunity to cross that I quickly lower my head to contemplate my hands, thin.
A few seconds later, I risk another glance and raise my head but he was still staring at me and this time our eyes met. Without my preventing it.
