Nelly, growing weary of the lengthy welcome ceremony, couldn't help but think that she could have resolved the issue much more efficiently. The rumors she had heard about their problems on her way there had provided her with a basic understanding of the subject matter, enabling her to swiftly solve the issue in under twenty minutes.
However, Nelly decided to intentionally delay the resolution. She recognized that the issue had plagued the department for a considerable amount of time, and it wouldn't have been considerate or fair to showcase her ability to resolve it in a heartbeat. Nelly believed it was best to be mindful of others' feelings and not draw too much attention to herself at times.
After successfully resolving the issue, the project manager was amazed by Nelly's hard work. "Ms. Jackson, thank you for your dedication today. I will treat everyone to dinner as a way to welcome you. Consider it your welcome dinner with us."
The men in the Programming Department were thrilled by the invitation and eagerly urged Nelly to join them. It was a rare opportunity to dine with a pretty girl, and no one wanted to miss out.
However, Nelly politely declined the offer. "Thank you all for your warm welcome. But I just arrived back from overseas today, and my grandpa is waiting for me at home. Unfortunately, I have to go back. However, I would be happy to treat you all to a meal once I officially start working next Monday." She flashed a brilliant smile at them.
Her gracious response sent the department into another frenzy.
The manager, understanding Nelly's situation, did not insist and instead suggested, "Alright then, we'll take a raincheck. I'll have the driver take you home. Let's gather again when you start working on Monday."
With her mask on, Nelly bid her farewell and left.
Nelly had rented a spacious condo with five rooms and all the necessary amenities back in the country while she was overseas. It had two bathrooms, two living rooms, and a balcony facing east, offering a perfect view of the sunrise. The large floor-to-ceiling window and carefully planned layout made it a comfortable abode.
Upon arriving home, Tony, Ben, and Donna began unpacking their belongings.
Tony, being the considerate son, started with Nelly's room before tending to his own. Since the condo had already been cleaned before their move-in, their task mainly involved unpacking their luggage and making the place feel like home.
Alpha Wade, pleased to see that the triplets were self-sufficient and caring towards others, was relieved. He had initially worried when Nelly had decided to raise the children on her own. However, looking back, he realized it was the right decision, as she had given birth to and raised three thoughtful children.
While the triplets settled into their new home, Alpha Wade didn't idly sit by. He prepared a scrumptious meal that filled the dining table, making sure to include all of Nelly and the children's favorite dishes.
Nelly was greeted by this heartwarming sight upon her return. The table was adorned with delicious food, and her entire family was reunited.
Her time overseas had not been easy, and she had longed for her grandfather's presence, especially his home-cooked meals. Finally, she was back.
This time, she wouldn't have to endure the separation from her family any longer.
"Grandpa!" Nelly called out to Alpha Wade softly.
Alpha Wade turned around, his eyes welling up with tears at the sight of his granddaughter. "You're finally back."
Overwhelmed by her emotions, Nelly rushed forward and embraced her grandfather tightly. "Grandpa, I missed you so much."
Alpha Wade patted her back gently, overjoyed. "You're already a mother. Why are you still acting like a little girl?"
Nelly said nothing, tears streaming down her cheeks. She had been responsible and grown-up for far too long. Now, all she wanted was to feel like a child again.
Alpha Wade understood and continued to pat her back, not uttering a word.
Tony appeared in the dining room, witnessing the tender moment between Nelly and Alpha Wade. A smile tugged at his lips. Seeing his mother happy brought him immense joy.
Not wanting to disturb the heartfelt reunion, Alpha Wade didn't waste time enjoying the food. Instead, he happily served his great-grandchildren, their smiles never fading. Nelly knew she had made the right decision in keeping the triplets when she saw how content Alpha Wade was.
Though there were risks involved, it was all worth it.
Alpha Wade looked at Nelly and spoke up, his voice filled with concern. "Nelly, do the children know who their father is?"
Nelly shook her head. "They've never asked me that question."
Alpha Wade's worry grew. "Have you ever thought about letting them meet their father?"
Nelly's expression turned serious. "Grandpa, they are Jacksons. They have nothing to do with the Morris family."
"Yes, but if Alpha Kilian finds out, I don't think he will let it go easily." Alpha Wade's worry consumed him. He realized that the truth might be uncovered sooner rather than later, especially since Tony bore such a striking resemblance to Alpha Kilian. Their paths could very well cross, leading to the revelation of the whole truth.
"We'll handle it as it comes. Even if it goes to court, the children's wishes must be taken into account," Nelly asserted confidently. She believed she wouldn't lose in a custody battle. "Besides, he wouldn't make a good father."
"Alpha Larry is a good man. I don't understand why his grandson behaves this way... If he finds out that you've given birth to three beautiful children, he will surely adore them. It's a shame that..."
"Old Mr. Morris is a kindhearted person, but fate hasn't allowed him to meet his great-grandchildren," Nelly declared firmly.
"I heard from the news that Alpha Kilian is getting engaged!" Alpha Wade suddenly mentioned.
Nelly's heart sank a little. Even after all these years, her heart still clenched at the mention of his name.
"That's great. Once he has his own children, he won't try to take Tony and the others away from me, even if he discovers the truth," Nelly attempted to reassure herself.
