CHAPTER 3
Riek’s POV
I'm about to say which is most suitable out when a Bentley pulls up in front of me, panic runs across my veins. I sense danger but Fridolf doesn't seem to realize what's going on. He's still persisting with me to answer his questions. Two masked men come out, each with a handgun. I want to scream, I look around no one in sight, I now regret taking a lonely road. I want to run back with Fridolf in my arms but they would shoot me, even if they don't, I wouldn't be faster than them. Though a gamma, I'm not a good athlete but a good wrestler. I learned defense skills from the age of three but they are useless now, as I stand before two armed, masked men who are ready to shoot if I make any movement.
One of them reaches out for Fridolf and takes him along. At this point I thought they were child kidnappers, not until the second taped my mouth and dragged me into the back of the car. I realize they are actually two men already sitting in front, also masked and armed. Immediately I was pulled into the car, the door shut and they zoomed off.
Inside the car, I cry the tears I've never cried before. Why should all these be happening to me? My son's question just took my mind back to the horrible incident that occurred five years ago, now another is happening right now. I shake, trying to free myself from the man's grip whose arms are already bounding me.
"Will you be still?" He thunders, I shake in fear. I would want to ask where he is taking me to, who they are but my mouth is taped. "Mommy, mommy!" Fridolf cries, the other man quickly covers his mouth with his palms to prevent him from crying to the hearing of passersby.
The hours spent inside the car seem like forever, it's getting dark. I remember I left my son's school at around 1:30 PM, or to be more accurate, a few minutes to two. With the already dark atmosphere, it must be around seven or getting to eight in the evening. I wonder where these men are taking me to, the drive consuming many hours signifies that I'm being taken to another pack because no location within the Snow Moon Pack would take more than three hours, though it's a very large pack, it wouldn't take more than these.
After some time I don't know exactly how many hours it is, we arrive before a giant gate, the driver honks and the gate opens. Were they already waiting for us? Then I realized that the men might have been communicating with them through texts, they were fiddling with their phones. They drive into the compound, dimly lit with golden lights at strategic points. The tape is removed from my mouth.
"You can shout now." The man that taped me mocks. Their masks are removed, knowing there is no use now, what will I do with them now, instead I'm crying for my son as he's taken to a different direction by one of the gang.
"I don't want to lose him! I don't wanna lose him!" I scream, crying my voice out of my throat.
"There's no escape for you now," he hisses. "We are taking you to our master."
Which master is he talking about? I feel goosebumps come up all over my body. When he sees that I can no longer walk down the stairs on my own, as my legs are shaking he carries me in his arms. We descend the stairs which are just so dark, I get scared that I would be killed or held hostage here. I can't even see through but marvel at how he and the two men walking after him are able to navigate their way through this tunnel.
The door opens, I nearly gasp at the extravagant, beautifully lighted and glamorous room which is very massive, a big sized bed covered with a golden cover and a golden chandelier which emanates golden rays on the room. Suddenly a strong scent hits me, the scent of peach, passionfruit and raspberries mixed together. The scent fills my nose and overwhelms me. I hope it's not what I'm thinking? I say inside me. I feel my wolf howl in what I would describe as excitement and sorrows.
"What's it?" I ask my wolf, it goes mute and refuses to say even a word.
The small door by the side opens, a tall, muscular and handsome man emerges from the inner room. The scent becomes more powerful taking the whole of me. The word 'mate' rings in my mind. It repeats the second time and the third. The reality I'd been trying to avoid hits me so hard in the face, it's impossible to deny now.
"Do I have to meet my mate under this circumstance?" I cry to my wolf but she doesn't say anything, my tension increases. The man raises his hand and gestures to the men to go. They drop me on the floor and walk away, closing the door behind me. Fear rises to its peak in my chest as I'm left alone with this man, his frightening aura surrounding me. I begin to shake in great terror as he walks with the aura of death towards me, as he walks up, I feel like the demon himself is walking towards me. I keep my face bowed as I sit on the ground, not being able to look at his face.
His hand raises my head rudely. "Look at my eyes!" He growls. Reluctantly I stare into his eyes with shaky eyes, I squeak as his charming blue eyes pierce on me and into my skin. "You're my mate and I had to send my men to get you here!" He says coldly, no element of emotion, neither hate or interest in his tone but then his countenance changes. Interest sets into his eyes as he caresses my face with his fingers.
