chapter 7

Lisa POV:

"So you still have no idea what pills Ace's sister gave to him?" I asked Emily from my phone.

The line went silent, then I heard Emily sigh.

"When I asked Dr. Marcus, he said those drugs are hard and it's only for animals, not Humans." She replied.

"So you're saying Ace's sister gave him animal pills?" I asked softly.

"Yes, but we are still looking into more information, I'll call you back, got some people to attend to, bye and be safe Lisa," Emily said before ending the call.

"Bye," I whispered looking at my phone before letting out a breath.

I need to ask Ace more questions about this.

I understand that his sister and have a bad bounding but why is that strong?

And she has someone with her doing this.

Animal pills are a hard source to get.

Walking out of my room, with Ace pills with me.

My mind was clouded with thoughts.

"This shouldn't be a problem for me, it's not my life, so why do I have this weird feeling," I questioned myself.

Shaking my head, I knocked on Ace's door waiting for his reply.

But got nothing.

With a confused look, I turned the door handle and walked into the room

Only to see an empty bed.

I felt my heart dropped when I didn't see him.

"ACE?" I called out walking around the room.

I checked the bathroom but saw no one

Shaking my head, I placed his pills on his bed, before walking back toward the door

"He might be in the kitchen Lisa, no need to be scared," I said quietly

Reaching the last step, I looked around the living room but saw no one.

With that, I walked toward the door leading to the kitchen

"I'm sorry Mia, have you seen Ace this morning?" I asked one of the maids.

"Good morning Nurse Lisa, yes Mr. Ace is in his music room, is something wrong?" She asked softly.

"No, no" I replied with a chuckle.

"I was just looking for him because he wasn't in his room, has he had breakfast??" I asked softly.

Nodding her head she gave me a smile before pointing at a tray.

"That's yours, I notice you hardly eat since you arrived here." She mumbled looking at her pot.

"Right," I whispered trying to avoid her look.

I didn't want anyone to know about my eating disorder.

Grabbing the food, I walked out of the door.

With that, I walked back to my room.

I had no idea where the music room was.

And I didn't want to be close to Ace because of how he acts sometimes.

When I passed Ace's room.

A groan left my lips when I remembered the pills I dropped on his bed before walking into the room.

I didn't want anyone to have their fingers on this.

Especially Evenly.

Balancing the food on my right arm, I grabbed the pills and turned around.

A squeal left my lips when I saw Ace standing there.

"What the heck, you scared me, Ace," I said with a sigh making him chuckle.

"Did you miss me, Nurse Lisa?" He asked tilting his head to the side.

There it is again, him doing this thing again

I didn't like them because they made me feel giggly.

"I have no idea what you are talking about, "I said trying to walk past him.

But he didn't allow me.

"Leaving so soon?" He asked softly looking at me.

"I have to eat and come back here to give you your medications, and why didn't you tell me you were leaving your room today, did you know how worried you made me feel?" I asked with a groan.

But all Ace did was smile.

Like not his normal smirks, an actual smile.

"What?" I asked softly looking down.

"You were worried about me?" He asked softly still smiling.

"So that was the only thing you got?" I said with a scold.

"Just let me go, Ace," I whispered still trying to push past him.

"Why, you could always eat here." He said before grabbing my hand that had the pills.

He kicked the door closed as he made his way toward his bed.

What a stubborn Man, I thought before shaking my head.

"So Nurse Lisa, you were worried about me?" He asked again when we sat on the bed.

Letting out a breath," Yes Mr. Ace I was worried, I'm not ready to get fired for losing you." I said quietly.

"So it's just because of your job, nothing else?" He asked quietly.

Something inside me wanted to giggle at the sad look he gave me.

Why is he acting like a kid?

I don't remember the pills I gave to him having any side effects.

"Did you hit your head somewhere?" I asked softly trying to touch his head.

A grasp left my lips when he bowed his head so I could reach.

A breath left his lips while his eyes closed as I ran my fingers through his hair.

"You tell me, ain't you my nurse?" He asked softly.

I could feel my heart beating faster.

This isn't right.

Why does it feel like his falling in love with me?

"Well, I don't see any bump," I said before pulling my hand away from his hair.

A groan left his lips before snapping his eyes open.

I could see his eyes changing from light grey to darker grey before going back to normal.

What was that?

I asked myself before looking away from him as I took bites from my food.

"Any news from your sister?" I asked softly.

A chuckle left Ace's lips before looking at me.

"What makes you think, she is going to call or check up on me, I told you Angel she hates me and I hate her." He said.

"So what the day I leave, you are going to be alone?" I asked softly.

Ace's body tensed up at my sentence before looking away from me.

"Yes, I'm used to it anyway." He replied.

Glaring at him, I tried hard not to feel bad for him.

I'm here just for work and nothing else, I can't fall for him.

Nodding, I continued eating my food.

Maybe it isn't the right time to ask him questions about his sister and the pills.

I'll just have to ask him some other time.
