Dinner
" Okay." Tyson replied.
" What do you mean okay? I suspect that grandfather wants to make trouble for you. I suggest you stay behind, I can go and say you got busy with something." Samantha countered.
She knew her family. They will use every opportunity to make fun of Tyson. As his wife, she didn't like their behaviour. But she couldn't do anything to defend him. All sfe could do is advise him to stay away from them.
" Are you worried about me?" Lucas asked, smiling faintly at her.
Their eyes met for a moment before Samantha looked away.
Her face started to feel hot.
" Who's worried about you?" She retorted, trying hard to hide her embarrassment.
Although Tyson was not wealthy, he was a decent Man and a good father. She had seen that from how well he treated Tara after finding out she was his daughter.
She was his wife and was determined to let things stay that way.
She never planned on having a divorce, no matter how many times her mother Insisted.
She didn't like seeing Tyson being looked down upon. She knew how that felt.
" Don't worry. I will be fine." He assured her.
It was just the Lewis family, what could their words do to him?
Tyson understood that there was more to the invitation.
He wouldn't call it a coincidence that after confronting Brian Lewis, the old man Lewis invites Samantha and him over for dinner.
Sure, that weakling must have run and reported him to the old Man. Not like he was afraid of them, he was just worried that Samantha would be caught in between them.
" Are you sure?" Samantha was still sceptical.
Tyson never confronted her family back then when they used all sorts of names on him.He just ignored them.
She didn't want him facing the same treatment but there was no way sfe could decline her grandfather's invitation. He might make things hard for her family and that's the last thing she wanted.
" Positive." Tyson replied.
After dropping Tara off to the house, they left for the Lewis family Villa.
They passed through a store and bought a few gifts for the family.
Samantha was nervous throughout the ride to the Lewis family.Of Course, Tyson observed that.
" You should relax. It's not like your family is going to swallow me" He teased but did nothing to reduce Samantha's nervousness.
Tyson gave up comforting her and just intertwined their hands together.
Samantha did not refuse his touch and Tyson was glad for that.
It had to be said that that was the first time they made contact after he returned.
Tysons Jaguar manouvered through the busy roads and in no time, they arrived at the Lewis family house.
They had just parked their car and were making their way to the house when a sarcastic voice greeted them.
" Finally, the family dog decided to make its appearance at the family dinner."
Turning to the source of the voice, Tyson saw a lady in her early twenties. He recognized her as Sarah Lewis, Samantha's cousin. Sfe was still a teenager when he left.
The woman's face was caked with makeup, making it hard to say how her real face looks. Her hands were intertwined with a young man who was dressed in a designer suit.
" Sarah, you should watch your words. Tyson is still your elder and my husband." Samantha's voice was cold and devoid of any emotions.
She could tolerate it if the elders berated Tyson, but such words coming out from a junior were an Insult to her.
" What? You can't bear to hear the truth about your lousy husband? Look at him, dressed like he's going to a beggars party." Sarah's words were venomous.
" Sarah, who's this?" The guy besides Sarah finally spoke.
He was interested in knowing who the beauty before him was.
He was attracted to her ever since he laid his eyes on her.
She was beautiful and exuded the air of elegance.
Sfe was nothing compared to Sarah who had to rely on makeup to look pretty.
"This is my cousin, Samantha Lewis and her good for nothing husband, Lucas Gray." Sarah answered, pulling Stephen more to herself that her bosom leaned on his hands.
Stephen smiled politely at Samantha.
" I didn't know I'd get to meet the former beauty of Los Angeles by coming to this party." Stephen commented.
" What beauty! She has already lost her glory. She's nothing but a mother of a five year old daughter and a wife to this useless piece of trash." Sarah declared maliciously.
She has always been jealous of Samantha who didn't have to do anything to look pretty.
She on the other hand had to use tons of makeup and observe a strict diet.
" Don't be rude Sarah.Whether former or not, she's still your elder." Stephen reprimanded. Although his voice was soft, it had a hint of warning in it.
Ofcourse Sarah understood what Stephen meant.
Her hatred towards Samantha Increased.
Ofcourse she could tell that Stephen was interested in Samantha. He has always been a playboy.
Because of Samantha, Stephen gets to reprimand her.
It wasn't easy for her to hook up with Stephen. He was the young master of the Russel family from California who had come for business here in Los Angeles.
Her grandfather praised her after she managed to hook up with him as his fiance.
She couldn't let Samantha destroy what she painstakingly tried to build.
" Okay." Sarah replied obediently, making Stephen Pat her head.
He treated her more like his pet and not a fiance.
Observing from the sidelines, Tyson could already tell that the young man was interested in Samantha.
He squinted his eyes dangerously, observing him like a hawk.
" Miss Lewis, since we both came here to attend the family dinner, why don't we head inside." Stephen offered like a gentleman and the ever ignorant Samantha smiled politely at him before leading the way.
Tyson followed the trio, the gifts still in his hands.
The family dinner table was filled with people who were chatting about the latest gossip in town.
" Grandpa, we are here." Sarah announced, causing everyone to turn and look at the entrance.
The once smiling faces however turned gloomy when Tyson was spotted among the visitors.
" Some people know when to arrive uninvited." A middle aged woman commented sarcastically.
She was of course talking about Tyson.
This woman was Shannon Lewis, Brian's mother.
" Aunt, what do you mean by that? Grandpa personally invited Tyson and me here." Samantha was fast to explain.
All the faces turned to old man Lewis to confirm her words.
" I indeed invited him over." The old man replied Indifferently.
If it wasn't because he wanted to teach that useless punk a lesson, he wouldn't want to ruin his mood by seeing him.
" It's good that you invited him over. He can at least taste a few dishes made by top chefs here in Los Angeles." Another person commented.
He was one among the main Lewis family members.
" It's good he gets to dine with important people like us." Another commented.
Brian who was seated next to his grandfather was glaring daggers at Tyson.
He was still angry after the humiliation he faced in the morning.
