Summary
When the wolves were created they were created without a soul, animals, killer machines, ones that go on killing spree with nothing to hold them back. The gods regretted their decision to create the wolves, they were rogue, they had no loyalties, nothing to stop them from burning the whole world, they needed a soul. The gods couldn't give the wolves a soul, they refused to kneel down, and their souls were as dark as their dark lusts. The gods forced the wolves to their knees, giving them souls in the shape of humans, kill the soul and die, hurt the soul and feel agony, the souls are to be saved, and protected, no more killing, no more attacks, they are forced to take care of their own soul.
One.
Stella POV.
You're not special, you can be one in a hundred, but do you know how many hundreds there are out in the world thousands of one in a hundred, you can be one in a million and still there are hundreds of those, you can be one in a billion and even then with seven point eight billion people out there, you're not the only one out there.
My point is, you're not that special, there are others who are just like you, and there are ones who have it worse or have it better, don't be such a drama queen, you're not that special, you're just you.
That's what I was taught growing up, I'm not that special, I shouldn't be feeling or thinking that I'm that one girl, that I'm the girl who's gonna wake up and take over the world, I'm not going to find the cure to cancer although it would be really cool if I do, but I'm not that smart in school I doubt that I'll be able to do it.
My name is Stella, I'm sixteen years old, and I'm the most normal girl out there, I'm not special, I'm not someone that you haven't met before, or someone whose story is going to be special, I'm just me.
I'm not the first girl whose parents have decided to move, I know that I'm going to leave my life behind, it's the life that I had since the day I was born, I was born in this house, I went to the local school and I have made a few friends of my own.
Tears were running down my face when it was finally time to leave, these are my friends, what if I don't make new friends, we're not just going to move cities, we're moving and changing countries, I'm going to Europe, I have no idea where we are going, but my father took a job and all he told me is that we're gonna end up in Europe. When I tried to object all he said was that where we were going people would be speaking English, so I shouldn't be worried or think about it for too long.
"I can't believe you're leaving Stella," my best friend Layla says, she too was on the verge of crying, tears were gathered in her eyes, but she's trying to be strong for me.
"I don't want to go," I cried, I couldn't help it anymore, tears were going down my face freely now.
"Hey, hey, stop don't cry, or I'll cry," Layla says, crying, now we're both a mess.
"Come on Stella we need to leave," my younger brother says, but I didn't want to leave, I wanted to stay here with my friends, where I'm used to everything, where my life was good enough for me.
"I don't want to, Finny," I whined to my brother, Finn is two years younger than me, he's a good brother, actually he's a great brother, but even my great little brother couldn't stop our parents from moving us.
"I don't want to go either Stella, but come on, it's gonna be an adventure," Finn says, he's trying to be excited for me, he makes life a little bit easier.
"Fine, fine," I say wiping my eyes and hugging Layla one more time, ready to leave with him, ready to move to the other half of the planet.
"I'm gonna you Finny," Layla says, hugging him as well, he's friends with the both of us, and we both love him.
I might not be especially, but Finn had one hell of a big heart, I think he might be one in a billion, he's my special brother. We both finished hugging our friends saying our last goodbyes, and then we went home to say goodbye to the only house we ever knew, we went toward our rooms and finished packing. We're not taking anything that's furniture or too heavy to be moved to the other side of the world, dad said we can only take our clothes and any personal items that could be carried in our bags.
I had everything ready to go, I had my school clothes and things left, I didn't need to take my uniform with me, I'm not going to wear it again, but it held a lot of sentimental memories, I decided to pack it as well. I got dressed and ready to get to the airport, I picked a book to read on the way, I'm going to a place where it's the night when it's morning for me, I don't know how I'm gonna get over the time difference thing.
I'm worried, I'm very worried about the whole move, about moving to a new school, but I'm not that special, I know I'm not the only one who has moved and is going to a new school in a new country if millions of people could do it, I can do it as well, I shouldn't be so worried, people do it every day.
"Stella, get your ass down here," dad calls me, he's not the nicer father out there, but he's not that bad either.
"Coming," I call back, I know moving wasn't going to be easy on him, it's hard on him the same way it's terrifying for me.
I joined my family in the entryway of our house, the place we all called home for so long, we all got in Dad's rented car, stuffing our bags in the trunk of the car, he drove us to the airport, parked the car leaving it to the renting company to claim it back.
He used to have a car, but he sold it since we're leaving, he also sold our home, and all of our things, they left nothing for us to come back to, we're not coming back, we're going to start a new life, maybe years from now, I'll come back here and start my own life here all over again.
I have managed to beg Mom into agreeing to talk to Father about giving me and Finn adjacent plane seats, we promised not to fight, not to make any noise, and to be good the whole ride, the whole seven hours in the sky.
We walked onto the plane and then took our seats, mine and Finn's were farther down from my parents' seats, which meant that we could have a parent-free ride, we were going to ask for any kind of snacks they had.
Three hours in and Finn had fallen asleep over my shoulder, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't pay much attention to my book, and I tried to read but I was worried about my new life, I wanted to call Layla and have her give me another pep talk into how I'm going to have my best life, how I'll be getting my first kiss, and my first boyfriend there.
I tried to wipe my tears away before they got too much to get under control, the rest of the travel was very lonly and sad, I kept trying to not cry, but I was doing a very terrible job, when the plan finally made it to ground and it was time to meet back with our parents my face was red and puffy.
"Where you two fighting?" Mom asks me as soon as she saw my face, I didn't want my brother to get in troubles cause of me, I shook my head no.
"She's sad because we're moving," Finn snitches on me.
"I'm not," I lied, I didn't want my parents to be mad at me either.
"It's a new life Stella, you should be happy, kids your age are wishing for what you have," dad scolds me.
"Sorry," I say, looking away from them, we left the airport and dad got us another rented car, the company has gotten us a place to stay in, but he has to get his own car.
"This place got so much green mom!" Finn says excited.
"Yeah, welcome to the green land," mom says with a smile on her face, she's very proud that we're away from the city, the one that ruins your kids and are now going to live in the middle of the woods, are we wolves or something.
"Mom, is there animals out there?" I ask her kind of worries, was there bears! I'm afraid of bears.
"Of course there is Stella," dad says, and I swallowed a big lump in my throat.
"Uhmm...dad, is there bears?" I whisper the last word.
"Bears, wolves, bobcats, and other animals, but they're animals that live outside," dad says, does he think that I want to have one as a pet?
"Dad, I don't like bears," I remind him, he should know that about me.
"You're not going to meet a bear," dad says but he didn't sound very honest.
"Do you promise? Cause if I do, I'm feeding Finn to the bear," I tell dad and who rolls his eyes at me, but keeps on driving.
"New rules kids, no feeding your sibling to the bears," mom says.
"Or any kind of wild animals," dad adds, they are good parents, they did a good job raising the two of us, but when it comes to putting stupid rules out instead of solving the real problem, they aren't the best always.
"Fine," Finn says giving me a side look, I knew that he's thinking of ways to tease me later on, he's not going to let it go, I just gave him amo to tease me.
"Mom, Finn is planning on teasing me," I say out loud.
"Stella, you don't know what he's thinking," dad says in a firm voice.
"But I do," I say knowing him too well.
"We're almost there kids, you excited," mom says stopping us from fighting.
"We live here?" I ask terrified, we're in the middle of nowhere, I don't see anything near us, all I could see is woods and more woods, is dad bringing us here to kill us all? Hide the body in the woods where no one could find us?
"Yes, some nature would do you good," mom says happily, looking out from the window with dreamy eyes, what is she so excited about?
"Mom, if I scream, no one is gonna come and save me," I say, I had this feeling in my guts, this place felt dangerous, I was terrified.
"Sweetie, statistically speaking, this place has point one per cent crime rate, and most of it is online fraud, you'll be safe," dad says using the statics again, but that doesn't help with my fear.
"If you scream, I'll save you," Finn my forever good brother says, one second he's teasing me, the next he's being nice to me, it's sibling hood, Finn looked like a minature me, we both shared the same brown hair, and small frame, I have greyish blue eyes, while Finn has green eyes, although compared to the green out there, his eyes looked more of greenish-blue.
"Thank you Finn," I say giving him a smile.
"Knowing you two, he'll be the reason you're screaming," mom says with a sigh, she never gets between us when we play rough, as long as we don't hurt each other, it's okay with her.
"This is our home," dad says parking the car in front of a giant house, it's much bigger than our old home, the company is paying him a lot to move into here, I know they must have sold him a million promised of having a better life for his family here.
"It's huge," Finn says out loud.
"You each get your own room, and bathroom," mom says with a smile, that was a big benefit.
"Come on Stella, this is a new beginning, seize the moment," dad says with a smile, he even offered me a hand as we walked inside the new house, but the fear wouldn't let me go.
