Chapter One
An ashtray suddenly flew across the room, ready to hit Savannah on her face but luckily her quick reflexes and quick thinking helped her dodge it in time.
“Uncle no I don't want to get married!” Savannah screamed as she ran across the room, desperately trying to escape from her uncle, Kevin Miller
“Please don't do this, I promise I'll be good, I'll do a better job at cle…cleaning the house and I can also help in the company but please I don't want to get married”, Savannah said as tears streamed down her face, trying to convince her uncle to change his mind about making her marry a stranger.
“Ahhh!”
Thud!
“I've caught her”.
“Hold her tightly, don't let her escape”, Kevin, Savannah's uncle said to his daughter Tancy and his wife Trisha who tripped Savannah by sneakily setting her legs out.
“You dare to run away from me right?”, Kevin said to Savannah, his chest rose and fell rapidly as he tried to catch his breath.
Tears were streaming down Savannah's face, she tried to wiggle herself out of her aunt and cousin’s grasp but they just held her more tightly. Kevin soon brought a rope and started tying Savannah’s legs together. Savannah watched helplessly as her uncle tied her, still pleading but got ignored
“You are not going to ruin my plans, this person is willing to pay 5 million to me and also invest 10 million to the company just to have you so you should be grateful and stop being a nuisance”.
“Stop crying you slut”, Trisha suddenly said and slapped Savannah.
“I'll beat you up if you don't keep quiet right now”.
Savannah’s cries soon turned into sobs as she didn't want to get beaten by her relatives, she doesn't understand why her uncle would want to do that to her. She hasn't even gone to college yet or achieved her dreams of becoming a renowned jewelry designer.
Savannah eventually stopped struggling as she realized it was no use, Kevin finished tying her hands and legs together. She was lifted up by him,who took her to the attic.
Thud!
He threw her on the floor, a sharp pain ripped through her side as she landed on a piece of wood. Savannah bit her lips tightly to not scream from the pain, beads of sweat forming on her head.
“Sweet Savannah, who knew you could ever use your beauty to capture the heart of a literal God”, Kevin said as he squatted, his hands slowly caressing Savannah's cheeks.
Savannah shrunk back in fear and disgust, she recognized the perverted look on her uncle's face
“What are you doing?”, Trisha suddenly screeched at the door, she walked and tried to push Kevin away from Savannah while glaring daggers at her.
“You slut, you don't even want to spare your uncle right, I'll beat you up”
Just as Trisha was about to kick Savannah she was held by Kevin.
“Don't do anything to her, remember we must ensure not a single scratch appears on her body”, Kevin said fiercely.
“Fine, but she better not get any ideas about you”. Trisha walked out of the attic angrily and Kevin tailed behind her closely. Once they were out, the door to the attic was shut.
Savannah struggled to sit upright and rest her back on the wall, the cool wind caused her to shiver in the silence.
“Mom, Dad, I don't want to do this anymore, I want to be with you instead”, she whispered as tears silently fell down her face.
Meanwhile in the living room, Trisha and Kevin were having a heated discussion.
“Over 20 years of marrying you Kevin, and you're still such a lustful fellow, don't even think that you'll be doing anything to Savannah tonight okay”. Trisha said sharply, her anger directed at Kevin. Kevin immediately tried to soothe her.
“Come on darling, I promise what happened that week was because I was drunk, don't be angry okay hmm”, He leaned in to give Trisha a peck on her lips, successfully calming her down.
“Yeah yeah whatever, so tell me who is this person that's interested in Savannah, he's even willing to spend so much money to get her”, Trisha asked curiously.
“Yes dad tell us”
“Ahhh!” Kevin and Trisha both screamed in fright, they turned and saw Tancy watching them with wide eyes.
“Do you want to give me a heart attack?”, Kevin demanded.
“Sorry” Tancy yawned, boredom evident in her face.
“Well to tell the truth I don't know, but then it's still a good thing, at least we can get rid of her legally”, Kevin said to his wife and daughter
“Legally? What is the legal way?” Trisha asked
“Through marriage of course, listen your questions are getting too much, Savannah will be getting married, well technically she was bought but the person offered marriage, I don't know why”
Kevin's words shocked Trisha and Tancy, who would be willing to marry Savannah. Tancy thought it was probably an ugly, perverted old man and smiled.
“Tomorrow they'll come to get her, so we can't let her escape, also they've given us only part of the money, we will receive the rest after they take her”. Kevin said and walked towards the kitchen to get a bottle of alcohol.
Tancy and Trisha finally can to terms with Savannah's fate, as long as they can get some benefits from marrying Savannah off to a stranger then they don't mind whatever fate she'll get.
A few hours later, Tancy secretly walked up to the attic and opened the door. She saw that Savannah didn't notice her coming inside and walked towards her. The sound of Tancy's footsteps woke Savannah who was sleeping lightly.
Savannah looked up and recognized Tancy from her silhouette even though everywhere was dark. Tancy switched the light in the attic on and looked down on Savannah with jealousy in her eyes, ever since they were little all the boys in school always liked Savannah and never even looked at her. That was the beginning of her envy towards Savannah.
“You!” Tancy suddenly said with a gloomy voice
“You think you can take everything away from me because you're beautiful right? Well I'm here to tell you that you're about to experience the worst fate of your life”, Tancy smirked when she saw Savannah shrunk in fear.
“Wh…what do you mean Tancy?”, Savannah asked timidly.
“Haha, it's so fascinating that you don't even know the gravity of the situation”, Tancy continued.
“Dad sold you to a very old, perverted and even ugly investor, tomorrow they'll come and pick you up and then the man will marry you. I heard he has a weird kink and girls always suffer in his hands”
Tancy's words frightened Savannah, she shook her head in denial, not believing that her uncle would ever sell her off.
“Please Tancy, tell uncle Kevin I'll be good, I don't want to get married and I don't want to be sold off, please?”, Savannah pleaded.
“You think I'd do that? You're really silly, anyway enjoy your last peaceful night because I am certain that hell is what awaits you from tomorrow”, Tancy turned to leave the attic, at the door she looked back at Savannah, her teary eyes brought about a sense of satisfaction to her.
“Bye Savannah, sweet nightmares”, Tancy said and walked away from the attic.
Savannah sat in silence, her heart raced so fast in her chest she almost thought she would have a panic attack again. Tancy was never like that when she first came to live with them after her parents death. But eventually, as time went on she changed and started hurting her.
Savannah thought of Tancy's words, she didn't know if it was just to scare her or if it was real. She decided to convince her uncle not to sell her off to an old man, she'd rather die than go to live with an old man for the rest of her life. He's probably old enough to be her grandpa.
She thought of how stubborn her uncle's character is and came to a final conclusion
“If he doesn't agree, then I need to find a way to escape”, she whispered to herself.
